Forums - Nintendo Discussion - nintendo, why do you do this?

well there are two different kinds of us. there are people who buy games digitally and people who buy games physically, and us gamers who enjoy physical copies of games are the way we are usually because we are collectors. and we like everything that comes with buying a physical copy of a game. for you, you couldnt care less if the game were burned on a disc, or stored in a cloud somewhere as long as youre able to play it, but for me, i love the legacy that nintendo has created and i enjoy every aspect of owning all their games, and that does include the spine.

I actually completely agree on this. I buy my games in physical format for a reason. You want the box art for the collector's value and pride that comes with showing off your collection. The front is important, but the spine is, too since that's the part you display. It's a shame since the "gray text on white background" that Nintendo's been doing with Wii U games doesn't speak to the creativity of the game inside. It's not a huge deal, but admittedly, it does leave me a little bummed when I look at my Wii U collection. The front covers are always nice, at least. :P

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

This is totally unacceptable. I mean I can't see how this would even take them a couple hours to design.

i agree. couldnt it just be as easy as copy and pasting "Hyrule Warriors" from the front of the cover and resizing it to fit the spine?

Maybe they just feel people don't care about it.
