I thought thats what the box art at the front was for... I like colorful things but not once did I ever think to myself, gee, you know what needs more work, the side of the box whoes soul purpose is to make sure I can pick out the game quickly by having clear text thats easy to read. Heck, I pick out the game and the box art is right there before I open it

is their reasoning for this to have clear text that is easy to read? if thats the case, then im glad for the understanding and it certainly frustrates me less.. but the logos that they make for these games look so cool, and i would love for them to be displayed.

Thats what I would think, Gray Color with a white background, can't get much more clear that that! And considering how "family friendly" Nintendo is, I am sure the colorblind people will be greatful

Of my collection 2 are only plain gray text: NSMBU and Ninja Gaiden 3. SSB4 is partial, the Wii U part is stylized.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

yes, after captain toad, i really have just lost it with this. its bullshit.

and if you think its just not a big deal and you really dont care, imagine if every wii u game looked like this:

youre telling me that after six or seven major releases that box art that looked like this wouldnt become a problem in your eyes?

Looking right now my collection of Wii U games, I can say that NSMBU, 3D World, Bayonetta 2, The Wonderful 101, The Wind Waker HD and partially Smash have grey text.

Pikmin 3 doesn't have it, it's the original logo well collocated.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

i got the bundle, so the side of the box has the actual smash logo, which is awesome. and i have it displayed that way in my collection, but yeah, the smash bros spine is also guilty of this. the wii u part is stylized, which jsut goes to show how easy it is to stylize the whole thing. anything but gray text. it looks so ridiculous. every game they release now is like this.

wind waker HD is gold and its a bit stylized. i dont have a problem with that. most zelda games have had shitty spines for some reason.. skyward sword being an exception. and 3D world is forgivable because at least its in mario font, even though i would have liked more color in it. i just cant for the life of me see why they continue this times new roman bold gray 12 pt font. WTF NINTENDO.

Weird, my Wind Waker HD case has grey text, Arial 12 format maybe.

my wind waker is gold, and then the part that says "wind waker" is in the actual font that says wind waker on the front. and my wonderful 101 is just the logo from the front, so thats not a game that im complaining about in the OP. its the games that have the new super mario bros U font. i dont understand why they continue to do this

I wouldnt care because I'd still have the game. The boxart could be a piece of paper with the words written on it in crayon and I wouldnt care. I'm interested in playing the game, boxart is low of the totem pole for me

well there are two different kinds of us. there are people who buy games digitally and people who buy games physically, and us gamers who enjoy physical copies of games are the way we are usually because we are collectors. and we like everything that comes with buying a physical copy of a game. for you, you couldnt care less if the game were burned on a disc, or stored in a cloud somewhere as long as youre able to play it, but for me, i love the legacy that nintendo has created and i enjoy every aspect of owning all their games, and that does include the spine.
