Forums - Sony Discussion - 13 Months with my PS4

Got mine in January and it hasn't been too bad overall... enjoyed NFS Rivals, AC:BF, Infamous SS, Diablo III, MGS, and Destiny, and Resogun. However, there were definitely periods where I had nothing to play and reverted to my pc or ps3.

Overall I am happy with the system even if it's not my primary gaming machine.

So far, I've gotten Tomb Raider, inFamous, inFamous with a chick, Metal Gear Solid, The Evil Within, and Call of Duty for PS4 plus a few free games and a couple that transferred from PS3.

I will admit that there were times when my console just gathered dust but the first year hasn't been a bad one at all. I was a bit cynical about the entire gen, not just the PlayStation but right now, I'm happy with the console and excited about the future. I'll bebuying The Last of Us and GTAV after iI clear some of my current titles and next year should be a killer.

What do you think of The Evil Within? Was debating picking it up as it's currently on sale at the moment.

OT: I've had my PS4 for 13 months as well now. I'm quite happy with the offerings in the first year, between lulls in large game releases I often turned to the PS Plus offerings, many of which I wouldn't have played without the service so I'm pretty happy, but next year is obviously going to be far, far better.

Its pretty tough and kind of overwhelming but I like it.  Graphics seem totally possible on last gen hardware but it does look good.  There's always a sense of danger and enemies don't seem to follow the rules (how I get spotted sometimes can only be explained by "spider-sense tingling") but I havent ever felt the fear of playing alone like I did with PT, Dead Space, or some Silent Hill games.

Weird seeing you say you were a PC gamer and then list a crap load of PS4 games that are available on PC.

Sounds like it could be a bit frustrating, but I think I'll give it a bash, haven't played something like it in quite a while.

Only 'dead spots' for me last year was Jan & Feb. I forget whether it was Mrcenary Kings or Dead Nation that got me to finally put down the dual shock 3 and play almost entirely on PS4.

Had games like FF14 on both PC and PS4, but I love the DS4 so much I rarely played my PC version. nowadays unless it's agame that can be enhanced greatly by modding (lik Skyrim, had that on PC) or a strategy game I am find the DS4 hard to beat.

Yeah after one Year i am not quite as happy as you.
As said in another Thread i love the Specs, the Dualshock, the Design and the missing Power Brick (big plus for me - i know others don't care but that was nearly a gamechanger for me).
BUT: gamewise was nearly no fun at all - i guess like many for me next Gen will start 2015, after Bungie and InFamous let me down in 2014. so far i played KNACK (was a launch day bundle gor me), INFAMOUS SECOND... and DESTINY.
On the other hand big let down in Comparison to my friends XbO are the apps:
I must say i really have no idea what you guys in the US got, but i only have YOUTUBE, HEADSET COMPANION APP, VIDZONE and NETFLIX (which will start broadcasting in 2015) and that's it.
My friend has plenty of apps ( jealous for Amazon instant movie, NHL, NBA, trueachievements).
Maybe i belong to those, which are more adressed with Microsofts Definition of next Gen.
I am not planing to sell my PS4 at all, but for the first time since release i am planing to get myself a Xbox One as well .... Gears of War on Next Gen could pull me over the edge

Stop lying. Your an Xbox fan

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

I've never bought so many games in the first year of a console. most of them are very enjoyable too. Only negative would be BF4 taking 8 months to work online and Driveclub taking until about 2 weeks ago.

What love about this generation is the fact, in my country anyway, everybody I know is getting a PS4 whether they are coming from 360 or PS3. Last gen the same group of people were evenly split but now PS4 has brought everyone together.

My cousin tells me all his friends in school are split so maybe it's the older generation siding with Playstation more than the younger. Either way suits me down to the ground.
