Forums - Sony Discussion - 13 Months with my PS4

The PS4 has really gotten me back in console gaming. last gen I spent most of my time on the PC, but since the PS4 launched I have been glued.

BF4, AC BF, KZ:SF and Madden kept me busy at launch-

NFS: Rivals was great and kept me busy in February.

march was slow for PS4 so I picked up Star Ocean 4 for the PS3, I liked it a lot.

FF14 was great was hooked on that from April to July.

Knocked out Wolfenstien, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Infamous: SS, and TLOU:R in July and August.

Then came Destiny. That game wiped out Sep, Oct, and most of November for me.

It took an epic game like Dragon Age to pull me away from Destiny. Love DA:I to death, finally Platinumed it. GOTY for sure.

Now on to FC4....... So far so good, it's a fun game, definitly a different experiance than all the other games to far.

still trying to figure out if I can get to DriveClub and GTA 5 before 1886 and Bloodborne Arrive.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

I haven't hit my 12th month yet, as I got mine in january. Never buy anything on launch day, not games and especially not consoles.

The PS4 was all I expected it to be and then some, still not all I want it to be though. Funny my biggest gripe with the PS4 so far hasn't got anything to do with its competence as a games console. I just want it to have video media support.

So far, I've gotten Tomb Raider, inFamous, inFamous with a chick, Metal Gear Solid, The Evil Within, and Call of Duty for PS4 plus a few free games and a couple that transferred from PS3.

I will admit that there were times when my console just gathered dust but the first year hasn't been a bad one at all. I was a bit cynical about the entire gen, not just the PlayStation but right now, I'm happy with the console and excited about the future. I'll bebuying The Last of Us and GTAV after iI clear some of my current titles and next year should be a killer.

I'm in a similar boat as a PC gamer who recently got back into consoles. But I'm wondering why you opted to play games like Wolfenstien or Dragon age on console. PC would still be my primary choice for those games if only for the standard mouse keyboard controls.

Have my PS4 since launch, and have played some very good games. All of those games I could have played on last gen as well, but I'm not sorry about it, as it was time to move on from X360.
I am very happy with my purchase, and am looking forward to the next 7-10 years of gaming on it.

I am hoping 2015 does for me what 2014 did for you.

Since launch I played about 4 games on my PS4. PC and Wii U really kept me occupied this year. Still have to finish 3 games before I can get to ACU on PS4.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I got mine back in april. My fun began after TLOUR came out. Been having a blast with it so far. Too many games by now lol and DAI is just monstrously long. Best console i've had.

Yeah after one Year i am not quite as happy as you.
As said in another Thread i love the Specs, the Dualshock, the Design and the missing Power Brick (big plus for me - i know others don't care but that was nearly a gamechanger for me).
BUT: gamewise was nearly no fun at all - i guess like many for me next Gen will start 2015, after Bungie and InFamous let me down in 2014. so far i played KNACK (was a launch day bundle gor me), INFAMOUS SECOND... and DESTINY.
On the other hand big let down in Comparison to my friends XbO are the apps:
I must say i really have no idea what you guys in the US got, but i only have YOUTUBE, HEADSET COMPANION APP, VIDZONE and NETFLIX (which will start broadcasting in 2015) and that's it.
My friend has plenty of apps ( jealous for Amazon instant movie, NHL, NBA, trueachievements).
Maybe i belong to those, which are more adressed with Microsofts Definition of next Gen.
I am not planing to sell my PS4 at all, but for the first time since release i am planing to get myself a Xbox One as well .... Gears of War on Next Gen could pull me over the edge

Most apps are not region locked, so if you make a US account, PS4 also has NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB (they all require subscription from the leagues of course), Crunchyroll, Amazon, Netflix, Hulu... Those movie services are of course unavailable outside the US, and you would have been in the same boat with XOne, unfortunatelly.
