i guess it cant get any worse than the previous 2 movies.

and wasnt this suppose to be like the biggest battle in movie history or were they just trolling us ?

Return of the King had the biggest battle, which makes sense considering it's the last book/movie. Why would the third movie have a bigger battle than the finale sixth film?

Some of the things in the Hobbit films are not entirely from the book. The love triangle was made up by Peter Jackson. Gandalf encountering Sauron, and Saruman's appearance are taken from the appendixes, not the actual story of the Hobbit itself. The Hobbit mentions that Gandalf leave the dwarves and Bilbo (however it does not say what he does during this time). The appendixes fill in the gaps.

Peter Jackson added the appendixes in to the films.

elves, dwarves, men, orcs and a diff kind of orc. The battle is similar in size to the battle for Helms deep I'd guess.

ANd that's fair enough. It would have been stupid of him not to fill in the blanks from the book! The love traingle I could do without but I hate love scenes in films 90% of the time. Real cringy. But I guess every film needs that nowadays just to get "teh feels!"

Seen it on Friday night...6/10. I now know why fans of the original Star Wars trilogy hated the prequel trilogy

It was ok. Should've had more Smaug, though. Smaug was the best thing in this trilogy, and the scenes from the second film where he's just talking and showing off to Bilbo are some of my favorite scenes from any movie ever.
