The title says it all. But is it even realistic? I mean, can PS4 handle it?
This could prove to be exactly what Sony needs to win over any VR doubters.

the question is how much would they have to downgrade it
must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:
WiiU: Donkey Kong
XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse
a single PS4 doesn't have enough power to display DC in VR with all the effects visible in these gifs
two PS4s might be able to handle it (making it uninteresting for the general public), but additionally shader effects can look strange/off when viewed with VR, so as the game surely hasn't been programmed with VR in mind Evolution would need to put in a lot of extra work
btw, that's a lot of big gifs, rip 56k

Just the enough to run at 60fps, it isn't that much of a stretch. They would need an extra downgrade to render two images at the same time, but it is basically the same PS3 did with Uncharted 3 or Killzone 3, two of its most demanding games, when running on 3D. So I'm pretty sure PS4 can do it.
Edit: Just to add, the super nice fluid physics wouldn't be impacted by VR. It doesn't matter how many POVs you render it, the mathematical operations remains the same.
Edit2: And 60fps isn't that hard. They could reduce the game's resolution to an interpolated 960x1080 like GT5 and double the fps. Or use a more refined interpolation like the 3 frame composition of Shadow Fall's MP mode that achieves better results. This would "double" fps in a GPU limited enviroment. If physics limit the fps, just simplify it a bit and they could hit the target, calculate it in alternated frames, etc.
You would have to significantly downgrade the video quality of the game to make it work, since you have to render to both eyes with an external (presumably wireless) source while having no lag.
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

Killzone 3, GT6, Uncharted 3 weren't heavily impacted by the 3D option, that demands the same kind of rendering. They had some downgrades, but they were far from significant. And the decreased IQ of 3D/VR glasses will probably make it less perceptible.
As far as I understand the morpheus will have a single 1080p display so it won't have an impact on the games. I don't know about the additional CPU toll but it should be possible.
The question is, is it worth it at 30fps?
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Cant tell you much but there is a wws racing game running of morpheus, and has been for some time now.
Not DC or GT7 specifically, but something of that sort wink wink.
