When's the last time anyone has seen a Vita... Ever.... They don't even sell them in the specialty stores near where I live, just a single rack of games.
Just saying, in the case of Wii U, it could be worse.

Wii U and Vita are faring about as bad as each other in the shops by me. Specialist shops have hardware and a few newer releases but that's about it. Very limited pre owned too. Noticibly so for the Vita. FIFA is about the only thing anyone seems to trade.
I'm very surprised by the lack of buzz Smash generated in the UK. It's Grainger Games' Deal of the Week this week.

Interesting, but yeah. Even in the 2 stores near where I live, the demo displays (boxed off or lock in consoles you can play games on in store), we have a XBone, PS4, Wii U, and 3DS. No Vita to be seen.

My store has sold 6 in the last month. The Walmarts around us have sold 23 across 5 stores. For the Wii U stores are not taking the risk. We have five n my Walmart now, we sold just one this past week. Are you saying the Best Buy near my house has 80-100 vita systems? Since they like to over spend as you say. I would not count on any other system, but if you honestly believe they are replenishing the struggling Wii U , U are greatly mistaken. PS4, X1, 360, PS3, 3DS? Certainly. But you do not take gambles on systems or any merchandise that sells poorly historically. Maybe your managers of old did so, but that was a gamble on their part and probably the reason Walmart is king of the retail world. |
Managers didn't have anything to do with inventory, it was all automated. Inventory fell below a certain level, the computer shipped more product. And yes, they are probably replenishing the U, the fact that they even had 60 in stock showed that they were ramping up for holiday time. That means they are trying to keep a higher number of consoles in the stores so that they don't run out.
Thats all moot though, because neither one of us actually know for sure whether they have had and replenishments or not, so the whole conversation is just silly.
The thing is the WII U's entire story could have been entirely different if they just had a half decent ad campaign at launch

It's not that easy.
OT: Maybe you can see why I've turned into a "Sony fan" by your standards, Ryan. Nintendo's doing multiple things wrong, and I point them out.
Link to the OT, or would you care to elaborate. All i'm saying is that alot of issues stem from the messaging of the wii u, while i say this on anecdotal evidence alot of people thought it was an add on for the wii. You could argue that it isn't powerful enough to support 3rd party titles but even without that it could be doing alot better if the messging was right and they had built up a decent install base a year before ps4/xb1 which meant 3rd parties would have had to support them, leading to perpetuity of sales

Xbox One, not so good, but the PS4 is hitting it out of the park, like everywhere else.
