Forums - Sony Discussion - How's Killzone SF compared to the old ones?

Title.

For those who played the older games.

I never played the original, but I loved the single player of KZ2, but found the MP to be too chaotic.

I enjoyed KZ3 single player (Not as much as KZ2 however), but I loved the MP.

KZ:SF was kind of in between for me. I really did enjoy the MP portion of the game. I probably put more hours into it than I did with KZ3, but the single player was not as strong as the previous two titles. WIth that said though I did in fact truly enjoy playing the single player portion. I just feel as though KZ2 was the highlight of the series thus far in terms of SP gameplay. I loved the very weighted feel of everything.

Hmmmm, the answer to this question depends on which year you ask it. If you asked say 3/4 years ago you would most likely get a good solid answer. But these days everyone seems to hate everything and thinks that everything is the worst thing ever somehow.

As a whole package, KZ:SF was the best of the series for me. It grew and expanded in so many areas. KZ2 was equally really good too, for some reason I never really liked KZ3.

I actually believe KZ:SF's strongest point was early on, when the stages were more opened up.

When I traversed an entire level, climbing, zip lining and then ultimately defending a base I previously overtook, it felt fresh.

I would have loved it the game followed this same path more throughout. I still feel as though this series has potential. It's one of my favorite shooter titles, and I normally do not care for shooters.

I really liked it. Maybe even more than Killzone 2.

My opinion. Killzone 2 & 3 by far the best for online and campaign.

Shadow fall is OK. A 7/10 shooter. Not a must have by any means. Graphically it's beautiful.

Gameplay for the single player is good and the story is just OK. It does the job basically. The online however is average. Not bad not good. The player base isn't supper active but you get plenty of games for the main modes.

The problem with the online is it hasn't evolved. In fact compared to the K2 maps it's gone backwards. They are too small and it's basically like COD now without the killstreaks.

It needs the big maps of K2 to return plus gameplay similar to Battlefield. So that would mean tanks you can drive, flying transport ships from the single player to fly around and some kind of chopper gunner. It should basically be Battlefield set in the future. But it's not. Hence it's your average run of the mill, graphically beautiful 7/10 shooter.

The worst out of the three

Lets be honest. Its kinda shitty.

(Havent played it)

EVERY GAMERS WORST NIGHTMARE...THE TANGLING CABLES MONSTER!

       Coffee is for closers!

If you like the heavy, deliberate controls of KZ1-3, SF lacks that.

It also has far too many action-less lulls.

And Killzone Mercenary on the PS vita is a great game. One of the best on the Vita infact.
