Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Greenberg: Xbox One #1 in “Many Markets Around the World” in November; Tops Software as Well

Tonight Microsoft announced that Xbox One topped November hardware sales in the US and the UK, but there’s more according to Marketing head honcho Aaron Greenberg.

@thekeenpaladin @XboxP3 thanks James, we are seeing strong sales from fans all over the world. Great time to be a gamer!

@TiC_Podcast we actually did great globally, but US and UK are top markets in size. A great start to the holiday.

@xcapim360 sorry I don't know but we are #1 in many markets around the world right now

@MayorKacho thanks, we also appreciate all the fans who bought games & made us #1 in nov nextgen SW sales according to #NPD

The aggressive holiday pricing seems to have really worked well for Microsoft. It’ll be interesting to see if it’ll push the competition to operate price cuts as well, even if the holiday season is coming close to its end.

December figures will also be relevant, since it’s the biggest months in Europe and many Asian countries.

He's more tame than I thought he'd be.

I am really curious to see if the x1 can do it twice in a row in the US cause if they could, that would be epic

They probably are going to do it twice in a row. I'd find it more surprising if PS4 won December.

I'm curious about what markets he's talking about. We already know X1 won November in the US and UK but what other countries? Canada and Mexico? Can't be anywhere in Europe or even Asia.

Many markets around the world? That must mean US, UK and China. Maybe some Latin countries like Brazil too.

Probably NA, UK, China and Brazil... "many" can't really be quantified after all.

Well China was a lock =P

Australia is always a possibility, Xbone has better bundles here and a competitve and often cheaper price.

Did MS offer big X1 discounts in Australia as well? That could explain it, although I remember reading somewhere that PS4 is much more popular there.

Hmm, Canada would be interesting to see but too bad no one tracks Canada T_T

Interestingly enough, Amazon.ca best sellers for video games is full of amiibos so at least those are doing well in Canada loll
