Forums - Microsoft Discussion - XBox One Has The Biggest Second November In History?

Sometimes people lose sight of things. It's not about how the Xbox One achieved those sales numbers. It's about the end result. It's like everyone wants the companies to release a product, sit back, and just wait and see if people buy it or not. That's not how things work. Imagine the Eagles beating the Cowboys by 24 points in the fourth quarter this Sunday. You think the Cowboys will just give up and take the loss at the beginning of the fourth? Or will they do whatever they have to to win that game? (Although, they will lose. And I have to say that because I'm an Eagles fan.)

Microsoft made all the right moves in the US and they have begun to reap the benefits. They may have even turned the tides on the ever important selling feature of "mindshare".

This is what you call a beautiful marriage of a genuinely great deal and a successful ad campaign

In the USA. and here, they are giving away like 2 new release games, advertising down our throats, and dropped the price ridiculously low. and the still BARELY beat the PS4 in the USA. World Wide is the One lost by a very large margin and it will go back to that in the USA come January once parents stop buying the X One because it's the cheapest next gen option. (excluding Wii U).

Barely beat PS4? 400k is the largest NPD gap yet between the two. It seems you're seriously downplaying.

Yea using "barely" was a mistake on my part. But all things considered... Microsoft must be hemorrhaging money just to have that 400k gap. and it won't last long after the holidays. (in my opinion). Congrats to MS tho (:

*edit*

Their X Box department must be hemorrhaging money* I'm sure the company overall is doing just fine.

They are, like $5 - $6b profit every 3 months.

They don't care about Xbox losses, it's just people on the internet that seemingly do!

The CEO of Microsoft was seriously considering selling or spinning off the Xbox division just 6 months ago. They may be able to afford the losses, but believe me, they (and the stockholders) are going to care sooner or later.

Advertising beyond belief, a decent price cut, great bundles, and the XBOX name bigger than ever right now are contributing greatly.

Thanks for all the great memories!

In America, the largest second month in America, ok?

And they had to cut the price of their console very early on to achieve this.

Worldwide the Xbox One still lost to the PS4 by over 400k, in spite of price cut and big releases/bundles.

Not as much as Sony dropped the PS3 and that didnt do the same thing.

The PS3 was considerably more expensive than the Xbox 360 at the time. A price cut barely made it close to the 360's price.

This is the Game of Thrones

MS can give away Xbox One w/ Kinect for free and they still wouldn't feel it. They print money~

No he wasn't, there was a dumb rumor on the internet which a lot of people instantly jumped on as fact.
