A lot of fans often complain about the successor of a great game. People complained about Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, and Reach as well.
I recall complaints about Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 being a step back but I'd argue those were the best games in those series.
Again, you often listen to forum dwellers when they tell you what you want to hear.

#1 Not surprising another thread is being derailed.
#2 Nice little attack on me there at the end. I find it funny you were on my wall today calling me a troll!

Well you took that response more personally than I expected.
I'm not derailing anything. I'm giving an example of fans being disappointed by the successor in an IP isn't limited to Halo. So that argument against Halo 4 doesn't hold water.
You said a lot of people didn't like Halo 4 because you read comments. You formed an opinion on Sunset Overdrive based on comments on the internet. Sorry, but that's a weak argument. There are many opinoins on the internet and you only focus on comments you agree with.

I took it exactly how you expected. You wouldn't have a go at me otherwise. Why would I not take something you meant personally in any other way?
My backing for Halo losing fan interest for the Halo's after 3 is based on more than just comments. Part of my job deals with the YouTube gaming scene. Halo 3 created massive things on social media for the series in terms of youtubers. After that it's presence pretty much died on YouTube.
Bungie jumped off a ship that had Reach-ed (excuse the pun) the crest of a wave. It's been downhill for the series ever since. 680k MCC for November was unthinkable for a lot of people. Including many Halo fans.
