Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why does NOA love to "goldify" all the boxarts? Nintendo strikes again with XCX!

Why do they do this? The box art looks fine and they ruin by making it a gold, most of the time it is Zelda games, but here are some prime examples

Xenoblade Chronicles X

A Link Between Worlds

Captain Toad: Treasue Tracker

Ocarina of Time 3D

Skyward Sword

Wind Waker HD

Wind Waker

Ocarina of Time

What do you think? Do you like these golden boxarts better or should they be left how they originally were?

Man, the Jap versions looked like that! DAYUM! In short, I guess it's because of The Legend of Zelda on NES. It was manufactured with a gold cartridge so I guess NOA just started following that trend due to the success of the game. It's like, you knew you were getting something golden, the best of the best.

Wind Waker gamecube looks AWESOME in the Japanese version!

The only one I do not like goldified is the OOT 3D

Maybe tradition? The first Zelda had a golden cartridge.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I heard that the Original Zelda cartridge in Japan were green, it was here in N. America that they made them gold.
Maybe just following tradition, since there is no longer cartridges, they want to make something else gold. Everybody that grew up in the 80's knew a gold cart was a Zelda game. It's iconic
