Neither, both are somewhat overrated franchises.

lol SF is overrated? Ok I don't even know what to say to this. If there was a poll of the greatest fighting franchise of all time SF would win if not be damn near close it's far from overrated.

What ever happened to Tekken? I thought that use to be way up there too.

The Street Fighter decision is way more impactful than Tomb Raider. Tomb Raider isn't considered "top" in the adventure game field. So while although it's a big move, it's not as impactful.

Street Fighter however is the most popular franchise in fighting games. With that being system exclusive to the PS4, that ensures not only Street Fighter sales, but the fighting game community as well. Guilty Gear Xrd is already PS only. Injustice and Ultra SF4 are next gen PS exclusive. So yeah, this SF 5 move may be the final blow needed to guarantee the fighting game community sees a permanent home on the PS4 compare to the XB1

What nobody realises is that between the two, The SF 5 decision is much bigger than any single game decision in itself. This is a potential genre lock in favor of Sony.

Times exclusively for a Tomb raider game vs full exclusively for a Street Fighter game?

Why is this a discussion?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I'm going to say SFV just because its one of the biggest fighting games in the industry. I won't say Tomb Raider simply because Uncharted exists. Having a game existing that is just like yours, takes some of the impact of Tomb Raider away.

Whereas in my opinion, there's really not another fighter as big as Street Fighter nowadays. I don't think Tekken is anywhere near its level anymore, so really Street Fighter is the only big mainstream fighter out there and now its exclusive to one console for this generation. That makes it the bigger impact game imo

Street Fighter V by a fair margin. Uncharted supplanted tomb raider long ago in their field and while street fighter has seen better days (really the fighting game genre in general with the death of the arcade scene in most of the world), it's still one of the signature franchises in video games.

Tekken is probably the only franchise that would come close to beating SF. I wouldn't agree with that game being better even though I do enjoy the tekken games.

This. This. This. Anyone whose followed the fighting game community knows all major tournaments which there are alot of are primarily x360 run. Internationally its street fighter and second is ultimate marvel. Just take a quick look at shoryuken or event hubs and youll see that alot of people are switching to ps4 from xbox360. guilty gear xrd + SFV  > k iller instinct

It wont win ps4 the console war but its a victory none the less and its small victories like these that add up to alot more.

I grew up playing some SF in the arcades, but I've mostly only played the MK series because I have always like the mythos (not really a big fan of fighting games in general). I bought Tekken 4 for PS2 back in the day because people said it was the best fighter and so when you said SF was, I was curious if maybe I was mislead.

Super Smash Bros. is better than all of them together. It's the only one that's actually unique and creative. And don't give me the crap that it's a party game, it's both a serious fighter and a party game. That's another reason why it's better than the rest.

Though I don't like any fighting game really, or hack & slash. Most boring games ever. Watching God of War is a guilty pleasure of mine though. Yeah, watching, not playing.

So for me Tomb Raider would automatically win.

I hope Capcom goes the Killer Instinct route and just update the base game instead of doing other versions. That way people will stop those silly jokes about a "Super Duper Trooper Omega" edition. Even if there were other editions, they would still be exclusive to Sony. I don't see Sony co funding this game to go to other platforms no matter what version. Just like Bayonetta 2 is with Nintendo.

SFV is the one with the longer legs here. It will be played competitively for YEARS to come.
