Forums - Sales Discussion - Will the XB1 go back to regular price after the Holiday?

Will it?

Yes 183 43.16%

NO 241 56.84%

Total:424

Not going to happen.

The "temporary" price cut was just a marketing strategy.

"Get the limited XBox One bundle for $70 off with two free games!" People love sales, and getting $70 off sounds better than getting $20 off. Even if the price is the same.

If they do that, sales will also go back to their previous state under 80k, would be a major mistake when PS4 will be selling like crazy with all the games in this period

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Briefly, there will likely be some kind of new bundle early spring then official pricecut

Maybe for the Quantum Break release. I believe that's coming out around Spring/Summer?

If they want to get smashed in sales by PS4 like they've been all year long until november, then yes. If they want to stay competitive and have a chance not to lose US, then no.

Probably, then around March release a slim at $350

In fact, they would get smashed in sales even more, since last year, PS4 had almost nothing to do so, but now...February/March will be huge

If there is a new 1TB sku, yes 399$
They will cut the free game bundle (AC was always only intendet for chistmas) and leave the price tag at 349 for the regular 500GB green Xbox One

That's something i can see.

But remember, only sales during the Christmas shopping season counts.

Nope, I have been saying this; once you see commercials saying "now starting at $349" the price drop is locked down. No company will ever advertise a product at a particular price then a few months later advertise the exact same thing at a higher price point.

I think for there PR sake they should do what they say. They can't afford more consumer doubt...
