Congratulations! Is it your first/only 8th gen console?

Yes, and it'll be my only one for a long while.

I'll get a PS4 eventually, Wii U... probably not unless that Earthbound Forever thing happens xD

Yeah I just have a Wii U right now for 8th gen. I was going to wait...but I can't not have Smash.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Congrats! I got one a week ago too. Its a good console although I agree that the 360's UI was better.

I might get an Xbox One soon. But my Wii U will keep me plenty happy in 2015. (Seriously, that thing's exclusive line-up is crazy.) How's the online? I never subscribed to Xbox Live in gen 7 and I think Wii U's online service is pretty decent.

Well if you want my honest opinion on the online networks

XBL > PSN >>>> Nintendo network

Then again Nintendo's is free so I'm not sure if that's a fair comparison

XBL is great though

Thanks. What are different ways you can communicate with other people? I know Ninendo Network has Miiverse, private messaging, video chats, and a friend making system that is actually freaking functional. (looking at you, 3DS)

Get Smartglass. You can do almost anything, from anywhere, minus playing games. Also, if you are a TV geek, get Kinect. IR blasting is beast. Voice commands are useful for TV/Netflix etc.

Text messages, Party chat (voice chat), video chat (with Kinect), in game lobbies

The 360 had voice messages along with 3 private chat channels, hopefully they can add those in a future update.

Haha, yeah, I was from 6-12 so online wasn't important to me. I also didn't feel like blowing $60 a year that could go towards another game.
