It's not that he wasn't man enough, it just that it wasn't true.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but there wasn't any new information to suggest that TR would come to the PS4...And yet, back then a bunch of people said there was no way it would and now they say everyone knew.

The information was right in front of us the whole time.
Holiday exclusive (clever way to say timed) - Competely avoided calling it an exclusive (why else would they do that)
No mention of it being a true exclusive
Sidestepping any clarification on it being exclusive like a politician
The developers saying the deal was "timed" on the forums within a week
Microsoft said it's up to the developers on what they want to do with it after the agreement
Microsoft was using qualifiers such as "like" this deal, which gives them leeway
