The PS3 is not the future of gaming in my opinion and I agree with his statement. The future of gaming is more then just having the amazing lineup of games that the PS3 has and the horsepower to create beautiful games.

Take a look at what Nintendo has done with the Wii. Its innovative and expands the notion of console gaming to the next level. The same can be said for MS and XBOX Live, it presents something new and keeps the industry fresh.

The PS3's innovation is Blu Ray and as far as I am concerned that doesnt enhance my experiance as a gamer what so ever. I can watch HD movies but then again is that what I bought my PS3 for? Moreso, Sony has tried to integrate what MS and Nintendo have done into its product. Sixaxis? Home? The middle button on my controller? These concepts are pruely to combat and imitate companies who are actually working to deliver something new to the gaming world.

Everyone says that PS3 is the future of gaming but I disagree. The future of gaming encompasses so much more then the PS3 and Sony brings to the table. I will give them kudos for the hardware innovation but future of gaming...no.

May come across that I am bashing but I own a PS3 and definetly am looking forward to what is coming. I simply do not feel that Sony will be the benchmark that everyone will try to follow into the next gen like they did last gen. It is obvious that vast majority of gamers are more concerned with innovation then pretty graphics as is the case with both the Wii and 360.

honestly i think that the ps3 has waay more vastly innovative than the 360.

the 360 with xbox live, ok, but they had that last generation all they added was video content and stuff.

i think the futuer of gaming is ps3 and wii, as they appeal to the 2 different crowds.

the ps3 has blu ray, a larger hard drive, little big planet (which defines innovative), home (which is better than xbl),

etc. that make it really innovative.

the wii is obviously innovative as well.

Home isnt even out yet how do you no it will be innovative?  Moreso, Live has taken 5 years to get to its standpoint, do you really think Home is going to come out and be amazing and present the type of innovation that MS has with Live?  If you no anything about programming you will no that it doesnt quite work that way my friend (ex MS Vista).

Live has maturied and is by far the best online product and by far the biggest innovation in online entertainment for consoles.  Tell me what company introduced DLC, Movies, Demos, Music, Live Streaming, gameplay integration etc. to console gaming?  Thats right Microsoft, we call that innovation sir.

Your right the PS3 has Blu Ray, not a bigger hardrive (360 Elite?) and little big planet but none of those 3 things present gaming innovation to me.  Those are things that we see or have seen in every generation. Cartridge--> CD --> DVD --> Dual Layer DVD --> Blu Ray and so on.  Little big planet some what innovative but the same can be said for games like Mass Effect, Wii Fit, Fable 2 etc.

Out of everything you just listed, what I bolded is the only thing 'innovative' - everything else is just an improved version of something else...    ...that's not quite innovation, in my eyes - that's more like refinement.

Just making sure we use our terminology correctly...   ;)

first of all home is innovative, no ones ever done an online service like that.

but ok, if you want to be like that, then nothing on the 360 is innovative and the only thing about the wii

that is innovative is the motion control, if you define innovative that strictly.

You people above all think innovative means good. Lets not forget howmany times nintendo try to innovate and they failed. (Power glove, Virtual boy). Sega even more so... Nintendo has made 1 innovation work for them and now everyone is rushing to the innovation goldmine.

Besides, people that say that they left the company because of lack of innovation usually don't get their bonus and are being babies.

Isn't home exactly like "Second life"?

I was honestly going to butcher this guy, but its not even worth it. Facts friend. Theres nothing in there. Just because you say a console is more innovative doesn't mean it is.
Past the Wii-mote, whats so innovative about the Wii? Its not gamers buying the Wii, its casuals first off. The Wii isn't beating the PS3/360 directly, its just going to another source.
XboxLive? Are you serious? The ability to send messages in game make in innovative? Or is it achievements. Other than that, what are you talking about? Graphics? NO. Game scale?NO. Its easier to make games on, MSFT pays for exclusives. THAT SIMPLE. The 360 does NOTHING the PS3 can't do.

Ok ill try to use smaller words for you:

1. Past the Wii-mote, whats so innovative about the Wii?

Hmmmm you realize that because of the Wiimote you have to play games completely differently then using a PS3 or 360 controller right.  Think about it Wii Fit, Wii Sports etc, the games you play are completely new and "innovative" because you play them in an entirely new way.  Try COD2 on Wii and then try it on the 360, you notice a difference?  That my friend is known as innovation, simple enough to understand.

2. XboxLive? Are you serious? The ability to send messages in game make in innovative? Or is it achievements. Other than that, what are you talking about? Graphics? NO. Game scale?NO

Ok this was a pretty dumb statement but yes they are innovative.  MS has definied, set the benchmark if you will for online gaming on consoles.  I am not going to even go into detail cause its apparent by your comments that you do not undertsand innovation but in any case yes its innovation.

3. The 360 does NOTHING the PS3 can't do.

You sure?  I was almost sure that the 360 can do everything that the PS3 can do and more?  Does the PS3 have integrated online yet? No sir enough said.

Doesn't appear to be stated. Legend seems to subscribe to the same standards as Fox News, anything can be said in the title as long as it's in question form.

News at 11: Is Osama Bin Laden hiding in your drinking water?

Long as you eventually use facts you can say just about anything in the title.

You fail at butchering.

"Past the Wii-mote?"  Why do we have to look past the greatest innovation since Sony brought in CD's?  The Wii is being bought by millions of gamers for SMG and Brawl, as well as expanding the market.  Thats called two things:

Expanding the market.

Kicking 360/PS3's ass.

And Xbox Live certainly is innovative.  Microsoft did it first and Microsoft did it best.  Many people on THESE forums say the buy 360 versions of games for achievements.  Since Sony came out with the genuinly bad PSN they had at launch,  Sony fanboys have been saying "it does, nothing the PS3 can't do," but when is the PS3 going to get up and prove it Jandre?

It's just like people saying that Blu-Ray is necessary for gaming, when not a single multi-platform game has been cut-down for the 360.  When is the PS3 going to get up and prove it?

As a side note, if you think Sony didn't end up handing Konami a fat wad of cash for MGS4 timed-exclusivity, your deluded.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Well I own a PS3 now...Do I care that Eyetoy, singstar, Buzz are not promoted well in Japan?

I didn't bought a PS2 for those game, I didn't bought a Wii for Wii sports or Wii fit;

The only sony Fanboys who probably may care are the some of them on VGCHARTZ who still believe in a day when PS3 sales will skyrocket and beat the Wii...

Phil Harrisons only left in fact because it didn't sold well? Right?
