Forums - Gaming Discussion - How much money did Sony pay Capcom?

I'd much love to see a lot of concrete evidence to show that Sony are "helping" capcom with SFV development, as in the whole deal for it to be equally compared to what Nintendo did with Bayo 2 because right now it hardly seems that way since Bayo 2 wouldn't of actually happened at all without Nintendo's help yet SFV would happen 100% even without Sony's help, it's not 100% the same exact deal and situation at all.

Not same but a much better deal, PS4 is the console of this gen.  Capcon can see this and is going all for PS4 as it will cost them almost no sales over all whiel ill help with dev by having Sonys support.  They picked the right horse to bank on this gen.

Capcom gave a middle finger to Japan...

how so?

It might be unrelated but... Japan SF tournaments were x360 based.

All the competitve SF aspect, JP and WW was mostly 360 based.

While i doubt that is true, would bringing it out on the X1 help that fact in any way?

And about Resi Revelations 2. They're porting it to the Vita, where it will sell worse than a Wii U port.

Do you really think the Vita version of RE:R2 will sell less than 200k units?

Don't say "it sold poorly on the Wii U" arguement. If you say that, why are they porting it to PS3 and 360? Those versions sold so poorly for a 160m userbase.

We don't know how many units of each RE:R1-version were sold. The retail sales of the home console versions are a very bad indicator. It was perceived as a smaller download title (just like AC3: Liberation HD), not a full retail game... even if it could fill a whole DVD. The main revenue on each home console for these kind of titles will be from digital sales.

Then people have to stop using the sales of the Retail Wii U version on why it sold badly!

Yep... Also Wii U is leading console Japan and Japan is not interested that much into PS4 because its a western console :P

Wii U follows Japanese standards...

I think when it comes to SF5 its got to do with the whole cross platform online play. Something MS has always been against and that sucks for MS but im happy Sony allow such things.

If going with Sony thats open to crossplay is the reason then I am all for it. More games need to be crossplay between pc and console.

If it had PS2 dominance which it does not...

Enough to cover the bulk of 360's Street Fighter 4 profit.

Most people that own a Wii U had a 3ds and likely played RER...

Capcom fails to support RE  community on Nintendo platforms anyway...
