Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sony proves Vita lives on - 16 Vita games announced at PSX

Now PSV needs better marketing a price cut and at least an 8GB mem stick included as standard equipment.

It depends if you like nintendo franchises. If not, then the Vita is better.....

That would pretty much be the only way. Even in you like the games for both systams, I think it would be hard to be more excited about games you can mostly get now on other consoles which consists of 90% of the titles here.

Even with those announced games there still just isn't that game that makes people say "I have to get a Vita". Nintendo on the other hand has a few games releasing next year that are going to give the console a boost in sales, Legend of Zelda being the main one. I can also see Star Fox moving some systems (if done right) and Xenoblade Chronicles X giving a small boost (though I don't see these two making any significant impact) keeping consoles sold in the hundreds of thousands with any luck. I could give a much better prediction of Star Fox's impact if they would show the freaking game off.

Like most of this year, I don't see the Vita even selling in the 100s of thousands at any consistant rate unless E3 (or some other gaming conference) shows something vasly more substantial to the Vita's library than what is already known.

Man, what an amazing line up of first party games.

Sony is really pushing their great IPs on Vita.

Nintendo has developed plenty of fantastic games on Wii U (SSBU, 3D World, DK, MK8, Toad's Treasure, soon Zelda U and X).

Honestly, both the Wii U and 3DS have gotten more quality first-party attention than the PS4 and Vita.

Eh, Sony has also developed plenty of fantastic games on PSV (Uncharted, Killzone, Tearaway, Freedom Wars, Gravity Rush and more). Difference here is that Sony tries to get 3rd party games while Nintendo doesn't.

What is more? What is MORE?(No seriously What is MORE? I like to hear all the games pls) Also 3 years, not fair against WiiU's 2 Years....

More means something additional to what I listed. Kidding aside, more can mean something like LBP Vita, an excellent game. It can mean Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate. It can mean Sound Shapes. It can mean Super Stardust Delta. It can mean all the collections (Sly, GoW, Jak, Ratchet) and more

Weird I thought comparing libraries of systems that haven't been out for the same time was an accepted practice.

Nobody said they were first party, well one of them is. Do you only enjoy first party games?

2 of those were in the first year and a half, in which the Vita's future was still relatively bright. After that, we've gotten quality first-party exclusives at a rate of one or two a year (Tearaway last, Freedom War this year), and Killzone was kinda a disappointment. Really, they seem to have handed the device off to third-party Japanese devs, which is something that is killing it everywhere else.

Except WiiU will be dropped like a bad habit much faster than PS4.

And what makes you say that? The system will get its 6-7 years of fame, like every Nintendo console, before Nintendo will start developing on the new console. Sure, third-party devs keep Playstation consoles alive for longer, but Nintendo consoles don't have that kind of development advantage. Even the PS3 is getting mostly inferior ports from third-parties at this point. The PS2 was sold for over half a decade after the PS3 came out, but does that mean Sony supported it through software the whole time?

I've learned to enjoy software while it's out, and both Nintendo systems and Sony systems have some great titles during the lifecycle, and peter out after.

Sorry but that's your personal opinion. We were discussing great Sony developed games and Killzone is accepted as a great game by most who have played it. Both Tearaway and Killzone released last year. Both of them were commercial flops. Not exactly encouraging for future Sony support. Getting 3rd parties to port their games to Vita is easier and far more viable. That doesn't mean you can say Sony has developed nothing for it, because as I showed they have made plenty of Vita titles (with little support from the userbase).

"And what makes you say that? The system will get its 6-7 years of fame, like every Nintendo console, before Nintendo will start developing on the new console."

Uhm have you heard about Wii? Released in 2006 it was dropped by Nintendo almost immediately after Zelda's release in 2011. Now with WiiU being sort of a lost cause in the sales perspective they won't stay long. My bet is that they'll abandon it soon after Zelda's release next year-2016.

PS3 is still getting support from Sony though...LBP3 just released on it and it has gotten most of the 3rd party games this year. Don't even compare Sony consoles to Nintendo's. You can even look at DS vs. PSP and see that Sony kept PSP alive longer than Nintendo kept DS alive.

Rest are collections? Sorry but no LOL. The last sentence includes collections...

They require dev effort, it's not like they appear out of thin air on the system. Same can be said about all the 3rd party games appearing on Vita. It's hilarious that some people try to deny Sony has made any effort with Vita while they still are making tons of effort relative to its reception.
