Roots and popularity are two different things, he's talking about Roots and you're talking about popularity.

SF mostly began on arcades and really made a break out on the SNES. It was I think the highest-selling 3rd party game on the SNES, I'm not 100% sure though. Since then it's mostly then been carried on on the Playstation 1 then on the dreamcast and then went multiplat.

Tekken began on the playstation and arcade.

ok far enough, but roots really dont mean anything. They sure dont mean much when it comes to publishers they are just trying to sell their game.

But they are different, because Tekken was born, in regards to console, on PlayStation. Street Fighter isn't in that boat, even though it will sell better on the PS4.

Minus Tekken 6, the main Tekken games have always been exclusive to PS consoles so it wouldn't surprise me if Tekken 7 ends up being a PS4 exclusive!

Oh I remember that!  Fighting tooth and nail on the wording of the whole TR debacle. I think it went on for a few pages of that thread if I am not mistaken. This turn around is quite ironic.

Dunno what the fuss about this is. SFV will be exclusive to the PS4. Then sometime in 2016 we will get SFVultra that will most likely be on the XB1. Nothing wrong with that.

Doesn't change that now if ever, the PS4 has become the official SF console though and that is the real win here.
