i know that, but we werent arguing about that, we were arguing about how the PS4 at 400 dollars outsold the X1 when it was also at 400 dollars, and back then most people buying this machines were the actual gamers that knew the difference betwen the machines, right now most people buying this consoles are parents that indeed dont know and dont care about the differences in the machines.
The Amazon charts have been making it look like the Xbox One is just slaughtering the PS4 in the US, but then when numbers come out, the difference isn't that big. Like latest numbers it was only ahead by 70k when PS4 has largely only had their vanilla SKU available on Amazon?
I think people probably put a little too much stock in Amazon's charts.

You shouldn't ever cross reference VGC numbers with Amazon. Last month had X1 at #2 and PS4 at #11, #31 and #48. It lost by 400k. Now there's only PS4s at 24 and 82. December is usually the bigger month.

Amazon ranking are worthless unless some sales number can be attributed to the rank, which it cant.
Its become a my side is losing everywhere so ill champion meaningless amazon to make my self feel better, imo.

This time of year VGC estimates are the least reliable so other then using for general understanding of the market you cant compare them. November VGC estimates were off as well so all of a sudden thinking that the first month of December are spot on are silly.

XBO still doing great, looks like it's going to be another XBO win in the USA.
I do find it strange that they seem to be fighting price in UK/content much more aggressively in the UK... is it something like the exchange rate that might be causing that (i.e the price is higher in the UK so they have more scope to fight it)?
