Forums - General Discussion - R.I.P. to my father

Today a very unfortunate thing happened in my life: my father has passed away. Instead of mourning (I can do that privately) I am going to celebrate his life here with some of the gaming memories he gave me.

My very first gaming experiences ever were with my father. He had a Sega Genesis, and we would play it for hours. I remember playing games such as Sonic The Hedgehog (the first game I ever played), Altered Beast and Street Fighter II during this time. He also introduced us the the 5th generation with the PS1, but I don't remember that time as well.

There are many other gaming related things I could think of about him, but the fact of the matter is that without him, I may not have become the gaming fanatic I am now without him. R.I.P.

RIP!

He helped Sega lead a valiant battle against Nintendo back in the day!

Thank you!

Losing your father so young. :(

My condolences. What else did your father introduce you to? You don't need to talk gaming just because you're on a gaming site, I'm sure there are many other things you would like to say about your father. My own father introduced me to gaming yes, but also to fishing, boating, hiking, survival, programming, guitar, science fiction, jazz, old movies and many other things.

Thank you. Yeah, it seems weird thinking that both of my mom's parents are still alive, but not for me. I tried to talk only about video games to keep it more on topic, but he did introduce me to many other things.

Aww man, I really sorry to hear that, nobody should have to deal with that at your age. I wish you all the best in this tragic situation. R.I.P.

My condolences.

I lost my dad when I was 19. I can still feel the pain I felt at that time and I still miss him everyday.

My dad was not into gaming, but he bought me all the gaming console that I was interested in (NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1).

Your dad will be smiling up there because he knows he brought you happiness when he introduced you to gaming.

Be strong :)

“Ore no... Kachi da!”

Very sorry to hear that :(. Rest in Peace.
