Forums - Politics Discussion - Can everyone agree that White American police officers are above the law? - No indictment in Garner case......

Ferguson was bullshit, but that one goddamn!!! they really are out there to kill, it's not like the dude was a danger for anyone.

Gather around it's story time.

Once upon a time, a long time ago. Sir lord Evolve was walking down a path of the gods. Sir Lord Evolve was puffing on a magical blunt. As he walked in the city of the wind, he was pleasantly feeling hi and nothing could ruin his day, accept this one thing.
As Sir lord Evolve was walking he felt wind on his face and wait a minute, heat on his back legs. . As he was ah puffin, puffin away a cop cruiser had snuck up behind him on the path of gods.

In total disbelief Sir Lord Evolve panicked and threw the said leaf rolled choice of smoke as far as he could, rather then the smart choice of eating it whole. The wind caught it and brought it right down in front of said Sir Lord Evolve.

The tyrant stepped out of his fancy carriage, this is when the everlasting day of beauty went dark. Sir Lord Evolve put his hands up only to be slammed against the carriage hood, however Sir Lord Evolve did not put up a fight. The tyrant of the day continued with his midieval ways, With the carriage door open, the tyrant slammed Sir Lord Evolves head into the upper trim of said Carriage.

I'm afraid this was not the end of dark days, back at the towns lockup. Sir Lord Evolve was treated to being slammed against a wall, harassed to give up names and what ever said Sir Lord Evolve may have, even though this is all he had. The story ended with Sir Lord Evolves case being thrown out by said young Lords Defender of the courts. The END!!

While this is funny, it's a true story. Cops do not act as you think they do. Lucky I put my hands up right away, I could have been shot or beaten a lot worse. Cops are supposed to be held to a higher order then us people, not at the same level, they are there to protect you, even from your self. Even in MMA fighters are taught choke holds that are not to kill, cops should know all these rules to protect it's own citizens. Your supposed to bring them to justice, not in a body bag. There are many ways of doing this.

Your damn right, immediately after, drove to the cop station, whipped off his hand and the gun. Some of the things that happened are complete bullshit. Cops are supposed to be held to a higher standard. I suggest you watch this, very good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUdHIatS36A

You know.. In my country we don't usually wrestle down a person who gets arrested.. The cops like ask politly to put your arms up and then one of them goes around you asking to lower your arms behind your back.. Our cops try to talk before actually take action which endangers more people..

The man sold sigarets.. And there are like 7 cops around him.. I think there is something wrong with the training and image of the us police.. Its not like " they are protecting us" but more "damn they are watching us"

I wonder why that would work in the Netherlands, but not work in the US.

The issue is lack of accountability not race, that's just trivializing and distracting from the real issue.

Of course I don't agree! Don't try to fight back if you are being arrested unless you want to get your ass kicked and possibly lose your life. It's not worth it. I feel bad for those that lost their lives.

When did resisting arrest become an option?

Your telling me if a cop grabbed you and slammed you into the pavement you would just let it happen and not at least protect yourself from harm? If they grabbed your arms to put on hand cuffs and pulled your arm to high there would be no resistence?

Did you even watch the video?  The guy was resisting arrest 100%  It is an absolute tragedy what happened, but don't pretend the guy was being compliant in any way shape or form.  To answer question though yeah I would protect myself but I wouldn't struggle against them, that's just a bad idea

Since when is resisting arrest license to use lethal force.

Are you seriously suggesting that if someone was being strangled they shouldn't fight back because its a police officer?

It seems health conditions contributed to Eric Garner's death. I don't know what it's like to be tackled and held down like that but just so we're clear, taking someone down to arrest them is not the same as actually opening fire. This seems more like an accident to me.

After watching the video, what do you think though?

Looks like an accident to me, judging solely from the video.

Yeah...totally an accident.

Oh, Fyi my father, whose training to become a guard at maximum security prison center told me that under no circumstances can you put your hands around someones neck when detaining them. That alone is grounds for an indictment.

Yeah, that cop definitely intended to kill that man in broad daylight while being filmed. That's why the autopsy showed no damage to his throat or neck bones. And he definitely did it because the man was black. That's why they didn't find any KKK robes at his home.

Wait a minute... something doesn't add up here.
