is tekken on Wii U any good? Please advise and explain why sales figures were terrible.  It's like people don't know it exists.

update: so far I figure that I can buy a great game for very cheap. Seems to be trend with wii U. Delighted, once again, that I bought this console. Thanks to the guys too for suggesting injustice. Looks really good for very cheap. Just like black ops 2 with its perfect dual screen local multiplayer for $15. Delighted, thanks for the advice thus far. Might start a thread on awesome 3rd party games on the Wii U for $0 - $18

It's "like" people don't know it exists? Well I didn't know either.

It's a shame it's not a main series Tekken game, though. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until Pokkén Tournament for a traditional fighting game on the console - it's not like I'm desperate to have one, really.

Well they were bragging about the engine for Tekken 7 being very scalable, so maybe...

yes it's very scalable, because they use unreal engine 4. Probably it's comming to PC as well.

Didn't know it existed either lol

Not a fan of the Tekken games, and i'm guessing the Wii U install base isn't either.

Well, if I remember correctly, the Wii U version is the definitive home version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2. However, most people who like Tekken aren't playing it on Wii U. Most Tekken fans are on PS3. The other bunch is on 360. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 didn't meet sales expectations on any platform. If it didn't reach it on PS3, then it did even worse on Wii U.

If I were to even pick up a Wii U, I probably wouldn't buy TTT2 again. I've bought both digital and disc versions for PS3.

As far as the game itself, it is the best Tekken I've ever played. I didn't like 6 at all. It was better than 5 but not much better than 5. So, it kept me playing and not wanting to go back to Tekken 5 while being disappointed at the same time.

As a PS2 game, Tekken 5 was great. Tekken 6 as a PS3 game wasn't great, but it was slightly, and I do mean slightly better than Tekken 5.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a great 3D figthter. But, like any 3D fighter, you have to know character match-up, learn frame data, learn how to mind-game your opponent. Most people don't like fighting games, and never stick around long enough to learn how deep it is, and assume it as some button masher, and unless you pick christie, or eddie, the game is stiff.

But, if you understand basic fundamentals of Tekken, a button masher will never, ever beat you. No matter how badly you're playing. If it's cheap, for Wii U, get it.

It's not a main entry in the series, but it is still a sequel to Tekken 6, in a branching timeline. More characters. Basic fundamentals will be useful and carry over to Tekken 7 when that game comes out on PS4 and Xbox One.

Tekken has been in decline on all platforms. Its not a game you typically see on Nintendo systems. I only expect it to do well on playstation.

I bought it

Tekken never sells well. The games are bad anyways...

The lack of fanbase was probably the reason OP.

Tekken tag 2 as far as i know was the first tekken to be released on a nintendo console.

It's the kind of franchise that screams "playstation" for historical reasons. In other words,if you like tekken, chances are you have a PS console to play it.Plus,it's a third party game which usually don't do very well on WiiU.

Well Tekken did come out on the gameboy advance..
