This gen will be a short gen!!! Simply answer, unlike the ps2 which lasted 13 years, ps4 probable won't. And even if it does, its almost certain that it'll be replaced with in the next 4-5 years. At best I see ps4 pull out 100 million and the xbox one at around 70 million. Wii U, well I'm not even predicting 25 million (18-20 million at best). Anyway this won't be like the ps3 360 era were it wasn't replaced for almost a decade, and the ps2 which was supported for 13 years. Sorry if this hurts a few people (lol not really) but facts are facts.

I'm thinking it's probably going to land somewhere between the PS1 and PS2. The PS2 had some insane legs well into the 7th gen, only time will tell if the PS4 can match that.

Well it could do as much as the wii, its very hard to tell by year 1 stats cause things can change drastically but in 2015, we will certainly have a better idea

yeah not sure where all these high estimates for One are coming from.  Surely one good NPD isn't enough to sell 80m lol.  PS4 continues to reach new heights for all Sony consoles including PS2 and is designed to be cheap to produce soon.  When that first price drop hits it's going to be crazy.  WiiU deserves better so that is sad.

xbone will not do substantially worse than 360 b/c microsoft is willing to lose billions to make sure it doesn't. wii u will sell at around gc levels. ps4 will not be on market for 13+ yrs. fifa will not come out on ps4 in 2025.
