"Well, here’s a weird thing that Microsoft is doing. If gamers with an Xbox Live Rewards account pick up Halo: The Master Chief Collection this December, Microsoft will toss them 15,000 points. Those points can be turned in for a $15 account credit.

This isn’t applicable to the early adopters who bought The Master Chief Collection on or near launch. That’s problematic because the game, quite frankly, still doesn’t work as it should. The multiplayer matchmaking, while slowly improving, has been an absolute mess since launch. Those first few days, the game was entirely unplayable online.

343 Industries has promised to make things right for early adopters, but this $15 credit for gamers picking the title up this month only isn’t sitting well with those who’ve been annoyed by The Master Chief Collection since early November."

Cool deal!

That part sucks for the people that already own it

MS working it hard for your Money.

pretty soon first party xbone software, living up to the unfortunate abbreviation, will come with complimentary sexual favors. didn't they start basically giving away sunset overdrive just a few days ago? (and that was actually a functional game...)

Well, I guess I'll wait on my xbox purchases from now on. I may get something free for not buying it day one.

This has been practically the same deal that ran during pre-order. If you pre-ordered the MCC from the MS store you would get 15,000 credit, a sticker, and a special license plate frame (which I got). With this you only get the 15,000 credit. I'm not sure what the big deal is with this promotion.

Well ok so when the game is actually fixed you get 15 dollars back. But early adapters get jack shit, Good ol MS

strange choice... basically trying to get new customers while possibly annoying the rest of your fanbase.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Seems like the general them for xbox fans this generation is "dont buy at launch, wait a little and be rewarded"

A slap in the face to early adopters who basically are still not able to play the game properly. Love Halo, but this is BS.

For the next, I will not be buying a single MS game at retail.
