Wonder how Publisher feel about spending millions upon millions on Triple AAA titles when people contant with a game that doesn't even come close. Actually if I was a Publisher I would be offended by this list. The list should be AAA -------- Indies there is a big difference, combining them is being intellectual dishonest about the content on these game, also direspect to the people making the games. |
I mean, I don't know where to start but I will try, keeping in mind you are the same poster who thought people uploading receipts for InfoScout was the epitome of random surveying.......
The "flood" of indies is nothing more than an evolving ability and empowering of smaller studios having access to publish games on new platforms. Your argument about Indie v. AAA is so outlandish and failing at logic that it makes me nauseous. This idea that somehow because more people have a good time my time is somehow less good is so ridiculous.
Again, this mindset like the entitled demographic of every generation (not videogame generation) that says the upcoming generation is going to ruin the world and you sulk and are miserable because other people are evolving and the world is changing. The world isnt ruined but the people complaining just have more wrinkles and less fun than everyone else.
Newsflash: No AAA games were or will be harmed during the recording and publishing of Indie games. This strange idea of a dystopian lack of AAA games with no basis other than rigidity and inflated ego and importance is nothing new. Your strawman needs more straw....and a hat.

Ok so lets put it on a scale so you can understand. If I'm a daredevil. I decide to do a competition with evil knievel jr or some random guy. I decide that the amount of jumps we do is relevant. However he does a 100ft jump. I'm over here and I do a 5 ft jump 100 times. Is that the same thing? is it in the same catagory, no it is not. Or lets make it about football. If I make it on a Highschool football team and so in your logic it's the same as being on the pro's. So there is a difference however this list serve's your purpose and your console. The list should be seperate because it's in hole different catagory. Also by your logic xbox one should have not invested millions into a AAA title but yet made 10-20 indies with that same money. Actually why even make AAA games? Why not just make a 1000 indies instead, because absolutly no one would buy the console. NEXT GEN GAMING SHOULD BE SEPERATE FROM # GENS AGO> Yes do people want to play these games, SURE but it's still not in the same group. That's why many things in life are subgrouped because they are not the same. Dance music is dance music right? Well DNB are no where the same as House music ETC>>>> |
Here's a better analogy: You are a space ranger and your friend is too. He travels to small areas and kills lots of easy to kill bots and he does it thousands of times in the same locations. You jump into a spaceship and travel an infinite universe, never once coming across the same planet twice. Who is most fulfilled?

Like what?
TLoU vs Halo
Drive Club vs Forza
InFamous vs Titanfall
LBP3 vs Sunset
I'm seeing a 1:1 ratio of games here. Quality is a whole other debate (Which I would happily be a part of). Maybe instead though we should debate who has more AAA games coming out next year (A few months away).
P.S. A game is a game. Period.

Hahahaha. Ok I will go pull out my phone and Play Don't Starve, Contrast, The Binding of Isaac, and oh wait none of these games are on phones. Well unless you count the fact that I can Remote play my PS4 on my phone...Then yes they are (If you have a PS4).
And yet there's still nothing on that list I'd want or already own on my PC, it's making my choice of grabbing a Wii U early next year much more easier.
Someone is going to take that as a morbid sacrilege of an insult and will no doubt try to rub my opinion due to the fact they cannot accept someone not sharing theirs.
Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see
So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"
MONSTER UPDATE IN OP! I ADDED NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER OF 2013. IT IS NOW 192 vs. 131
I also will add on, That's why they are called indies, because you know what your getting just by the name. Why name it if it's just all the same.

FYI, mobile market is damn near toxic to indie devs to start in. Going from PC to mobile or even PC to console is more viable.
