You can grind all you want, the plat will be unavailable until challenges are enabled.
Credit where it's due took the longest to get, I unlocked it on oct 19th. It didn't feel like grinding though. I reached level 50 the day before and have over double the amount of fame already (37m)

Challenges must have worked for a bit at the beginning. The trophy to send out a first challenge was at 0.5% when I got lvl 50. It has now dropped to 0.2%. The user base has grown quite a bit.

Agree with you, and probably after I finish grinding today I'll be just in the cusp to receive the challenges release and plat =]

I'm glad you don't need the time trial accolade for the platinum. I have all the accolades except the location ones and time trial is only at lvl 2. When I start a time trial, I'm lapping for 20 mintes to an hour. Drift challenges only last 20 seconds to a minute a go. Seems they didn't take that into account.
You level up fast with those accolade bonus points, some are worth half a million or more for completing. Plus you also have the club bonus. I'm slowly losing ground on the global leaderboard since I ran out of bonus points to get.

Btw that Renault twin run concept from the free DLC seems a bit out of place when you race against it. It was way ahead of the pack in a couple races I did today. Friggin hard to catch.

The fast loading times and instant restarts keep me coming back to this game. It's the ultimate go to for a couple quick races.

Fast loading and restart are a blessing. No time to read vgc while iit loads.

At the time I tried entering one my friends took so long that when I was level 20-25 I created mine and included my secondary acc to activate and I alone brought it to level 20. Missing 1.5M for level 50 and 60km of drifting for credit trophy.

finished all DLC stars, the Renault can be fast but aggressive cornering worked. I still lack 9 stars in core game. After achieving drift accolade will go for the stars.

for Renault race stick to the basics. Draft, late breaking, inside cornering and exit speed.

My biggest gripe is with some point to point with hard final section at night (some circuits also). I'm doing a magnific race but one mistake at the end and you go last (they really try to keep racers really close. I have finished the same race 10-20s faster and the distance to second place was similar 1s or less). And being carefull don't help much as they will smack you on the back and fly youout of track.

anyone who says the ai is running on set path is bsing, they make mistakes, smack each other, close the door for you and try to hit you in corners to f* you and easen their corner. The only time I don't appreciate that is when I'm doing lap time challenge, other times I find it refreshing.

I only played this game for the first week that I had it, I really need to get back into it.

The AI really grew on me. It seems to treat you like you treat them. If I make a dirty pass they are far more likely to return the favor, after a clean pass they usually give me some room instead of forcing their line. Braking early (not too early) won't get you in trouble then. They stay close yet their behavior also depends on your overall time. If you are doing well and are ahead of schedule they are still close yet won't be too pushy. If you screw up a few times in the beginning , recovered yet behind schedule, they are far more likely to force passing you again before the finish.
Ofcourse I've also been in front for a couple laps, got complacent and slowed down a bit, to get passed right before the finish with one bad last turn.

They can help with lap time challenges too, with drafting I have gotten some challenges on the first lap already.

I was driving against the Renault in a single race, with the GTA Spano, tracks with lots of corners. That renault corners fast, GTA Spano breaks out fast. I did manage to pass him on a Chile Observatory 10 lap race, yet in the final lap I barely nick the side in a corner and he shot past me again. The rest of the pack was over 10 sec behind.

Try to set some drift records on Cayoosh point and Fraser Valley, and I think the Scottish race circuit has some nice long drift challenges too. You'll get those 2 achievements in no time.

I aint sure mine mimicked my driving style, I avoided hitting normally, and wouldn't attack with ite but I saw ai coming for me inside the corner with the speed it was in the straight.

Drafting helped a lot in setting some laps.

didn't had any trouble against the renaults after no more than 3-5 tries, the average speed or lap time were harder.

I'm really close to finish so no problem on the grind, 2 levels and 1.5M.

I wasn't talking about the dlc tour events, just random super class races. Normally the pack stays pretty close together, yet the Renault concept was running far ahead in the races I did. It might lag behind on races with a lot of straights, I'll see how it does on the fast Norway and Scottish tracks. The fast cars tend to take a big lead there. Anyway it's good that certain cars work better on certain tracks, there's not one that easily wins all.

I mostly do random single races for fun. Online works but still takes far longer for a race to start, plus the AI is not as murderous as real people. Online races are often a big pile up in the first corners and 1 or 2 people that disappear ahead. Unless you know the people, the AI is more fun to race against.

The hardest star to get for me was the Hennesey Venom GT lap. I had to relearn my handling of that car to get another 2 seconds of my lap time.

Well deserved, this is the best racing game I played in a long long time!

Hmm where are the other countries with cheap as hell Driveclub bundles?

I just know the UK with 279 for that.
In Germany only Farcry, GtaV and TlofU bundles were on sale

Don't know... but the numbers don't lie. It was around 300k last week and right now is 594k in the ranks, so the sales are increasing a lot.

Owwww I see. Understood, didn't tried in random races.

I just play SP, don't like competitive MP, but sure I would play friends for fun.

I still have to take out 3 seconds on my lap time on it... and actually I miss 23 stars.

Any update on PS+ version? I always planned on trying it out first before buying or not.
