PS4: A+

The only console I own, and it has so many great games that I don't need any other system. The best console ever made...

PS4: B+...It's been a pretty good year to be a PS4 owner. Infamous, Destiny, The Last of Us, and a wealth of free stuff on PS+. Not great. But very good.

PS3: B-...I've gotten a few things on sale during PSN sales, but nothing that was actually released this year. And then there was the free PS+ stuff. Plus my backlog. It was a pretty good year. But I have a feeling that this thing will get used less and less with each subsequent year.

X360: D...I really don't use this thing much. It's never gotten the love that my PS3 did.

Wii U: A...It's a damn shame this thing isn't selling more. It really is a gamer's gaming system. I grabbed a variety of games for it this year. Not all were released this year, but hey, it's new to me. Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, Rayman, Shovel Knight, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, etc. Just a good solid system.

PC: A+...This is my primary gaming system. I can't even count the number of games I have purchased and played this year, and it's my go-to for multiplats due to the superior graphics. Some highlights being Dark Souls 2, The Walking Dead, The Evil Within, The Wolf Among Us, Diablo 3 Expansion, Warlords of Draenor, Titanfall, Shadowgate, Lords of the Fallen, Dragon Age, Steam Sales, Humble Bundles, GOG sales....Jesus Christ. I have more games than time on the PC. And I have it hooked to my TV as a monitor, so with the XBone controller, I can essentially have the same couch experience that I would with a console. I love my PC!

Nothing to say here. PC can everything and everything the best. Only some expensive hardware parts are a negative. And u can't play console exclusives, but who cares, i got a console for that, if i want to play them

Xb1: B+ (with the chance to rise to A-, if Ms is does the Windows 10 and universal Apps stuff right)
The exclusives are great. The stuff u get more than just a gaming console is awesome. The powergap hardware wise is kind of big, but the result ingame is quite small.

Ps4: B
Extremely solid gaming consoles for a great entry price and with good exclusive stuff  u can expect to come. Nothing negative, but also nothing extraordinary. Maybe the last will change in the future

360: B- (itself a B-, in comparison to current gen i sould be only a C+)

3DS: B+ I bought NSMB2, MK7 and Pokemon X this year, that counts, right?
PS1 - Z
Atari 2600 - Z+
N64 - Z
GameCube - AA- (comes after Z)
GBA - Y-

Had so much potential.  It could have been THE ultimate retro system. But the games just aren't there. There is literally less than 1% of the game library that is worth playing.

But does the Vita really cater to you? Or is it the games that do?

Both.  Without games any system is a fancy paper weight, without the system, the games are fancy skipping stones.

The Vita has dual analog sticks, face and shoulder buttons with a big beautiful screen.  The games remind me more of what gaming use to be in PS1-PS2 days before online and shooters came to dominate the scene.  Platformers, RPGs, beat 'em ups, these are genres made for my tastes and Vita has them. Throw in remote play and can use my PS4 while wife watches television.

It honestly could end up matching the great GBA SP as my favorite handheld of all time if it keeps this up for another couple years.

Xbox One
Pretty solid start for this generation. Many good games like Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and Far Cry 4. With last year remasters like Grand Theft Auto V and Metro: Last Light, making for a good and solid exexperience. Many welcome changes to the UI and general looks of the dash.

Grade: 8/10

Xbox 360
Last year was awesome, this year there were not many games I played on it. Watch Dogs was very dissapointing and it showed the age of the console. Thief was a generally solid stealth game, but again many loading screens due to the lack of power. Still a solid console, but 2013 was definitely its last hoorah and it shows. 2014 Just wasn't up to par.

Grade: 6,5/10
