The PS4 is one of the most balanced console I´ve ever seen. It reaches 1080p with good quality textures. The CPU is just enough for the GPU it carries, the memory is 8 GB, but only 5 can be used for games, as 3 are for the OS. Just enough for today games. The GPU is good enough for 1080p but not more than that. The blue ray carries 50 GB, just enough for actual games. If you consider placing a better component, then it wouldnt make much sense, since the others wouldnt keep up.  If you place a worse one then it wont be able to handle today games at 1080p as it does. So it seems the thing is just perfect balanced for what it designed for. Also its balanced on everything else. The SO is well balanced between speed, games and media. Sony asked the developers what they wanted, so it has a very good third party support. Also Indy support too. The price is right too. Everything is balanced and the sales are reflecting that.

just make it 2 - 2.2ghz and it would fit so much better. no bottle neck any more..

The PS4 is only a bottleneck on games that are heavily reliant on the CPU like Assassin's Creed Unity.

Assassins Creed Unity was a very unbalanced when it came to choices regarding graphical fidelity. The massive number of people possible on screen added little other than to bother players in my opinion.

Check your tech knowledge. Every system has a a bottleneck. If you beef up the CPU, then you will have a memory or GPU bottleneck and so on.

Until now, the CPU looks adequate. Mantle showed us that beefy CPUs are really only important when dealing with DirectX.

And don't use AC Unity as an example. The game needs a beastly CPU on PC and demands a GTX 680 as minimum. That things is just a disaster.

why not? i really, really hope, we will see better tech, more improments and more demanding games later this gen.
if all stops now. and ai + npc density is always one part of games, that lack since years...

this 1.6ghz cpu will proabably be a horrible bottleneck later. only way is to let ur gpu calculate things. but if u do that, u cant that gpu ressources for other stuff. but this is all known alreday. consoles are weak especially this new gen. if u dont mind to have the best grafphics and games, its fine ofc

at least they were way more powerful compared to the high end pcs of the same time

Except the poor battery life its almost perfect. And poor download speed. And I have no other complains.
