Forums - Sales Discussion - Looks like PS4 will be #1 for Black Friday

Ppl on gaf are wondering why no pr from Microsoft yet. They're saying during the 360 era they would say something a day or two after but now there's still no word on sales figures, and some are beginning to believe the numbers didnt meet internal expectations.

Sales numbers would likely be considerably lower from the 1+ million predictions ppl had if still no pr from either side, which means the sales were probably somewhere in the 600-700k range for both.

And if that's the best Microsoft could do with all that massive bundling and price cutting, then there's a very good chance that Sony did in fact win November NPD after all.

Either way, we should find out soon.

I have a friend at microsoft and I'm going to tell you right now...its no secret that microsoft's numbers since release have been below expectations...Hes even seen charts that where their low estimate were 10-12 million sold by this past summer...and thats not even close to what the real numbers were..

The mood at Microsoft has been referred to as an "OH SHIT" mood.

Sure PS4 exceeded Sony expectations, while x1 was a disappointment. MS fire sales and Price Cut speak for themselves.

I would personally load this page sometime tomorrow, it shows the best selling in November up to now and it is updated on a DAILY basis, this will tell us if one great day is enough to counter 3 weeks of great sales for the XB1 (altho we saw the gap diminishing on the week ending Nov 22nd, maybe eveyone who wanted an XB1 got it... or the broken games they placed their bets on, AC:Unity + Halo:MCC, are taking a toll on the sales...)

This or the XB1 is really on track to have significant market share in the US, if this is the case I expect Sony to cut the price of the PS4 very early next year.

The PS4 is selling way to strong for Sony to cut the price even if the X1 might gain a little momentum based on the holiday prices.  There is still really no need for Sony to drop the price of the PS4 until they make some hardware revisions that reduce their cost.

is PS4 suffering from supplie issues? i mean, there is no sku at top 20 right now.

Plot twist: Sony is holding a definitive price cut to be announced this week, that's why the lack of supply.

No, they are in plenty supply at 399 sitting at mid 30´s on Amazon hourly chartz.

And white Destiny Bundle still not sold out...

I agree with Machiavellian...the only reason for a pricecut now...would be to secure market share...because right now Sony is making money and selling more console...just not on black friday. LOL

i do not think those are the black friday special bundles......

Within an hour the GTA/LoU bundle PS4 has managed to become #1 on Amazon Hourly Charts, #1 on Gamestop, and *rumor* #1 at Best Buy.

Meanwhile the other PS4 bundle is also trending!  Congrats Sony!

You must be talking about Europe, because the XB1 AC bundle is #1 on the USA Amazon site.

They aren't sold out except at Target and Walmart. http://www.nowinstock.net/videogaming/consoles/ps4/

Thankfully the XB1 AC Unity bundles are still available. http://www.nowinstock.net/videogaming/consoles/xboxone/

Microsoft should have made moer Sunset Overdrive bundles. Those systems went lightning fast.

I'm really not sure who would be buying a base SKU at $399 or even the Destiny Bundle at $449, given that there are two holiday bundles available at $399.
