The UK retail has adopted Black Friday quite heavily this year (Black Friday has never been a thing over here).  Right now can find Xbox One and PS4 bundles for super cheap, like PS4+Driveclub for £280, GTAV and TLOU for £300, Xbone+CoD:AW for £270, Xbone+4 games for £300.  Plus lots more.

Meanwhile Nintendo bundles are sitting at the prices they were 6 months ago, or last year.  Many have no discount at all.  Wii U+SSB+MK+CPP =£300.  Thats right, costs more than the PS4/Xbone bundles.

Why has Nintendo not done deals with retailers for Black Friday deals?  Have they given up?  Do they think they don't have enough games to make back the discount loss in future software sales?

FInd deals here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/gaming/deals/hot

Probably they have given up on getting a generational lead or big sales and concentrate on being profitable. The DLC-strategy and amiibo fits right into this theory.

You REALLY love throwing in that "online" part I see lol. They are cheaper that's the bottom line. The point of the thread is that the PS4/XB1 have some crazy good deals for the holiday and NIN has done basically nothing for the Wii U. Which is crazy because they could definitely use the sales. I just don't understand what they are doing....it is like they just gave up or something.

I only love "throwing" it as much as people love to forget it.

it's funny how last gen not paying for online was so important and great for lots of users (namely sony users) now, all of a sudden, it holds no value. I find it very odd...

But who forgot about it? Who is saying it holds no value? It just seems silly to me JUST LIKE IT DID LAST gen when people would try tu use it. No one is saying free online is not great because it is. But to use it as a way to "make the price of a console look higher" is just plain silly. You might as well add in games you buy, power comsumption, netflix, hulu and other apps that you use as well. The extra conrollers you have to buy if one dies or messes up or just if you want to play with more than one person etc. But no one does all that hence the reason trying to throw the "online" in is as silly now as it was then when people were using it.

I see a lot of people on this site disparaging Nintendo's network and essentially saying it is of little value. But that's neither here nor there. You're right about adding in all of the other costs of owning a console, like controllers, memory, power consumption et al. A responsible consumer considers all of it. Doesn't change the fact that free online is free, and paywall online is behind a paywall, especially on consoles that feature several games that are essentially unplayable without it, like Titanfall.

I should point out that it wasn't directed at you, but at everyone else saying there are no BF deals. I understand that you can't take advantage of the deals in my link, but to be honest, I don't feel like you need to.

If you're still whining about Black Friday UK deals after the link above from JazzB1987, then it's obvious you'd rather whine than shop. A £200 Wii U with SM3DW + MK8 alone is worth that much. Throw in a couple of games that get quite fun when you have guests over, and you got yourself a deal.

You basically want a massive price cut + half a dozen AAA first party exclusives without having to search for it yourself, because you've been shitting on every BF deal presented to you throughout this redundant and pointless thread that exists three or four times over like I previously stated. I'll come back here when I find a UK deal with every single first party Wii U game released, Wonderful 101 and the Bayonettas + two Pro Controllers for under £99.

It isn't good deal.  A premium Wii U and 3D World could be found for £200 anyway, all they did was swap a premium for basic, which offsets the Mario Kart cost, then threw in 2 crappy games (lets be honest) and a wiimote almost nobody needs because so many owned a Wii.

Doesn't compare to the PS4/Xbone deals with massive discounts on entry price as well as latest blockbuster games.

That's quite a bold & not very wise step game you take here!

You may say that you don't like them, but saying that they are crap, you lost all credibility you might have had!

Did you play these games even? Nintendo Land only shortcoming is that it's bit short, but what it does, it does it with greatness! It lays the rules for a new type of local gameplay: asymetric gameplay! Just that on its own...

As for Wii Party U, while I may recon that it is not the best Mario Party game in the world it's still a nice local party game with very fun mini-games!

So crappy games??? You are trolling buddy!!!
