Forums - Gaming Discussion - Anyone have Disney Infinity?

Tonight I went to Walmart to get Shadows of Mordor for $25, expecting to buy nothing else... silly me, especially since I brought my mother and my old lady. Ended up spending more like $200.

Anyways, while standing in a line that seemed to take forever I peeked in the Disney Infinity section, only to find Elsa & Anna all gone (Not surprising, they are out of stock on Walmart.com, Gamestop.com, etc...). Well, some kids were checking the Skylanders section and I turned my head and what do I see? A lone Elsa sitting in a pile of other stuff, kind of hidden away, so I picked it up. After thinking for a few minutes and thinking "Don't really want to spend $15 on this and $75 on a starter pack" and checked the flier and realized the toy was $9 and the starter set for Disney Infinity 2.0 Toy Box was on sale tonight for only $37. So yeah, I bought them both, along with figures for Tinkerbell and Rapunzel.

I am sure my daughter is going to absolutely love it, since it focuses alot on building your own game world and she is a big Minecraft junkie due to building and using her imagination.

Anyone else have this game? What should I expect going in? I am sure my daughter is going to want me to play with her. Thank goodness the starter set also comes with Stitch.

I bought it for my nephew a few days ago, fun game when played together, not special gameplay wise. The Toy Box is like LittleBigPlanet building tools but in 3d and simpler to use. Could invest a lot of time in creating your own world.

The problem is, it is never enough for him, he keeps asking for new characters and I keep ignoring him :p. The in-game advertisement for new stuff is strong, so be careful.

My kid brother has it, your only problem is if your daughter wants more characters. ^^

Glad to hear it does indeed focus on building. I also hear it has an online store sorts where you can download community created levels for free? If so then that will be great.

My daughter will of course want more characters, but she always wants girls and luckily she will start off with 4. 5 if you include Stitch who she also likes.

I'm guessing I will need a Marvel playpack to even play story mode though. Also a total shame it doesn't work with playset pieces from 1.0. Would be nice to be able to let her play the Toy Story one.
