Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo might not be making more GCN controller adapters at the moment

According to EB Games Nintendo may not be making more of the adapters...test the waters to see demand first?

Considering the demand for them, I don't see why Nintendo wouldn't make anymore. Now if you want one, it costs a whole lot online. I guess I should feel glad that I bought the bundle.

Eh?? But theres soo many GC controllers? How are people supposed to play Smash with GC controllers if they don't have an adapter? Anyway, pre-order/buy that shit just in case!

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Guess I gotta buy the third-party adapters online then :/

I wonder if they work well...

Hmmm with demand this high, maybe Nintendo makes or sponsors a proper GC styled controller that is Bluetooth (like the Pro) as opposed to the other ones tied to the Wiimote. But I wouldn't put it past them to just make more adapters, especially with demand this high.

those third party adapters are going to sell a shit load and the originals will be worth a lot to Smash fans if this is the case!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Deceptive title. Not what the article says.

"at the moment" should be emphasized, as should the fact that this is coming from a retailer and not Nintendo.

I have no idea why they didn't just release those controllers as wireless ones. God dammit Nintendo.

The tourney players are anal about precision and the wireless version would cause a delay in response. Not noticable for 99.9% of players maybe but it would still ruin tournaments

Nintendo isn't going to pass on more money right now. Their holiday plan has them all about profits over marketshare this Christmas.
