I would not get to sure of that, I see what you are saying, but. With PlayStation Vue, PlayStation Now Subscriptions, major system selling software, and a high potential for a price cut, PS4 has a great chance of tracking above Wii well into the future. The there is also the Morpheus thing which could create a whole new wave of exitement when it launches.

I think at this point PS4 has all but sealed the deal, it will pass the Wii's first year with ease. The only thing that can stop it from being the fastest selling console to every milestone from this point on is a manufaturing issue/ supply constraints.

Beside that, there will be tons of games!

It has 150$ of extra space for price drops to keep it ahead of the Wii. So, faster seller atm and with a potentially way higher lifespan considering price and third party support

If the Wii gains the lead again (I think it will) I can say for sure that ps4 wont have the same "sudden death" the wii had and it would certainly have a high chance of passing it again after a short period of time

How long will PS4 be able to track with the Wii? Wii had 3 to 4 amazing years. It's hard to imagine in it's 4th December, Wii sold 7.4Mil, about as much as Wii U has sold in 2 years.

The fact that the Wii didn't seem to get a black friday boost in 2007 seems off to me...

If only sales in Japan would pick up, PS4 is selling really poorly there.

Just to compare, ps4 sold about 800k in Japan so far, while Wii did 3.8 million in the same timeframe there. That's 3 million difference in Japan alone.

It also means ps4 is beating Wii by a good margin in the west.

Why inb4? The Wii wasn't supply constrained? The price difference doesn't mean Wii could've moved even more consoles without being supply constrained.

Good stuff, naturally it will fall behind next year but this is promising regardless. And the sales are remarkable for both systems too.

PS4's performance is never seen before in the gaming industry. It's doing this while being 150 dollars/euro more expensive than the Wii and without Japan's help. No one thought it would be able to keep up with the Wii for so long.

I wouldn't be surprised if it kept up longer. After all it's pretty clear next year is gonna be much better than this one!
