If the 13.5 was from Sep 30th then why did they only claim that number a week and few days ago? Also why is Xbox One numbers not updated to 10 million since they also claimed they shipped that much? Im guessing the Xbox One will be more than they claimed also?

sony announced that they shipped 13.5 million at the end of september. there's no disputing that lol.

Sony is probably waiting until the PS event next month to announce current numbers. Also Xbox One's nearly 10 million shipped was as of the 2nd week of this month. So no they haven't actually sold through 10 million yet.

When the numbers was 13m Sony claimed they shipped 13.5m. Thats exidence that vgchartz does not account for sales from retailers but shipped to retailers. If Microsoft claimed they shipped 10m the numbers should show 10m. I know vgchartz is the furthest thing from accurate numbers buut im trying to make sense of it.

I read your part about 13m is sales compared ot 13.5m shipped. WHat you said is not evidence. The fact is that ps4 was likely being overtracked in sales here by some margin. There are fewer ps4's in retailers, which is why vgc sales is similar to the shipped number. Xb1 doesn't sell as well, which is why the xb1 sold number is further from their estimated shipped number. Furthermore, we don't actually know how many they've shipped. MS hasn't said. All they said was "soon". When they confirm 10m shipped, numbers will be updated, but until then we can't know.

VGC numbers for PS4 were 12.1 as October 4th so 1.4 million behind the 13.5 million shipped figure, which as i stated before was as of September 30th. VGC reports estimates of consoles sold to consumers not shipped to retailers. We've had nearly 2 full monts of sales since then so obviously the PS4 is current shipped number is higher then 13.5 million.
