. Clearly, COD is the one that needs to slow down or die off.

LBP is one of those games that DESERVES to sell exceptional amounts, but its outward appearance impedes the "hardcore" gamers from giving it a chance and delving into what the game actually is.
LBPs atmosphere is quite similar to games you would have found 20 years ago...your Sonics, Marios, Crash Bandicoots and Spyros. If Sackboy would have shown up in that Era, It would be a massive series. But its trying to do what those games did (On a much much larger scale naturally) in a new generation that is enamored with grittier games.
As much as I love LBP, it being my favorite series of the past 10 years, Ever game since the first has sold less than its previous installation, including the rather bad PSP and Karting spin-offs.
THAT BEING SAID!...I expect the game to have great legs, especially with the bundles this Holiday Season that should introduce new players to the series.
...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

Only played with friends, so not far. My impression is that it's more of the same old, which isn't bad at all, but audiences are pickly these days.

Tiger Games are the best, hours of playtime for little money.
kupomogli said: It's unfortunate if it does bomb because it's a great underrated series, but at the same time it doesn't matter. With the amount of additional content being added to LBP3 and the community support, do we really need another LBP on the PS4? Also, there's so many people bashing LBP because of the reviews and that because Media Molecule didn't make it the game is garbage. When going from LBP1 and 2, how much did Media Molecule really innovate on the franchise? Pretty much none. It was just some new levels, a few minor changes, etc. Who knows what would have happened if Media Molecule developed the third LBP game. We might not have received the additional characters with unique gameplay styles, still two spaces to move on with three max to build on without some sort of glitch, no 3D platforming space, etc, etc, etc. Additionally, LBP2 crashed quite often, sometimes wouldn't load community levels and went into a loading loop that forced you to restart, etc. With the additions and the community behind it, I see LBP3 as a must own. |
LBP added amazing Logic to the games...hundreds of pieces of logic that allowed for HUGELY crazy more things to be done...like making full scale RPGS.
That is hardly insignificant, and is far more than any new iteration of any other franchise there is. Everything else just adds more guns, better graphics and open world.

Their prodiucts make the Virtual Boy look like a PS2...
Like I said most of the "sales" for this game will come from bundles.
- Franchise fatigue
- Rise of digital
- Lack of advertising
