Actually LBP3 released on PS3 too. I think combined they did around 100k. Also, the bundle doesn't release until next week. Quite a few people are no doubt waiting for it.

Plus, it was a very crowded week with at 3-4 other AAA games releasing on PS4

LBP3 will have good legs to 2m+ total sales on PS4 alone.

Where are these excuses when you discuss Xbox exlcusives. :-p

I don't know how the game will do in the long run, but it had an abysmal launch. No doubt about it.

Which ones fit what I just said?

In case Forza Horizon 2 pops in your head the difference is that I never called FH2 a bad flop and secondly, LBP3 has a bundle and not FH2 and finally FH2 released in a pretty quiet time period at least compared to now

The game should have stopped after the second one. Unlike Mario Games they've failed to introduce new and exciting gameplay elements to keep each new game fresh.  I mean.. look at the massive difference between Mario Bros 1,2, and 3.  Comparatively Little Big Planet just seems like more levels of the same game.

Eh how about playing the games. LBP Vita was the best LBP by far with lots of new features, for example, when it released. Haven't played LBP 3 yet

wow that seems low for this game. Its a very kid friendly game, so it might be under quite a few christmas trees this year though.

if u hate your kids or if they allready have rayman...

sony has just one good studio, they are doing uc4 or tlou2 or smoking dope and watch tv till they come up with something "new"-

and even naughty dog games dont sale so well...

The uncharted series averiged around 6 million copies sold, Last of Us is close to selling 10 million and its a complelty new IP.

After Polyphony Digital, they are Sony's most valuable developer

they are much more valuable than any other sony firstparty, they make the games that are on par with nintendo quality wise.

ND is the shiny diamond in sonys crown.

Have you played it?

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/08/12/littlebigplanet-3-new-create-tools-features-detailed/

  • 70 Brand New Tools
  • 29 Enhanced Tools from LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2
  • 10 Tools from LittleBigPlanet PS Vita arriving to home consoles for the first ever time!

Plus you now have an inventory, there's a quest log, hub worlds with sub levels, 16 layers instead of 3, 3 new fully customizable (including handling) sack heroes, you can create your own power ups.

But most people are buying it to play the game not to create levels.  Changing the tools ect is going to appeal more to a hardcore Little Big Planet users but not a broad base of purchasers.  But you're guess is as good as mine as to why the sales have been declining.

?? And buy making more tools available better and different levels can be created. Playing and creating isn't mutually exclusive

I think Sony goofed up by having Sumo Digital develop the game, personally. It's just not as good as the others.

That being said, I hope there is a fourth.

So the Yoshi's New Island of the franchise.

So assuming i'm wrong what's you're explanation for the decline in sales?

I think it will sell lots over time :)

I am surpised people continue to think Little Big Planet really should be selling a lot.

Everything about the visual design is incoherent. What are sackboys and WHY are they? Are they just cutified rip-offs of Shane Acker's characters?

What's with the realistic looking materials being used in largeæy unimaginative ways, and just why is the lighting so drab?

Then you tell people that it's really just a poor platformer, but you can use it to make your own poor platformer and poor renditions of other genres too!

The value of the package is not at all apparent to most consumers, and even game loving people interesting in making their own stuff find better ways to stretch their creative muscles.

To early to say if it flopped or not but the game will definitely sell the least amount of the series.
