You think the circumstances of anyone's death is comical? That's truly horrible. I take the Darwin Awards seriously. Every Darwin Awardee's death is a sad tragedy, but from an evolutionary perspective their deaths benefit the species because they were prevented from procreating. Don't give me that crap. That is called black humor/comedy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_Awards The Darwin Awards are a tongue-in-cheek honor, originating in Usenet newsgroup discussions circa 1985. They recognize individuals who have supposedly contributed to human evolution by self-selecting themselves out of the gene pool via death orsterilization by their own actions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1000_Ways_to_Die
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_comedy A black comedy (or dark comedy) is a comic work that employs black humor, which, in its simplest form, is humor that makes light of subject matter usually considered taboo. Black humor corresponds to the earlier concept of gallows humor. I am all for preventing dangerously stupid, violent, sociopathic people from breeding; though I'd prefer it didn't happen by their deaths. Sometimes I think being required to have a licence to breed is a damned fine idea. Hitler had the same idea, its called Eugenics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics This wasn't comical, but it was stupid and ignoring common sense. Common sense says you do not wave something that looks exactly like a real gun at a cop, and to do so is stupid in the extreme. |
The only people in the actual Darwin award books is of people who die in really stupid ways. Doesn't matter if you take it seriously, it is meant to be comical lest it would include more serious deaths.
Kids are stupid, he was 12 years old, it doesn't matter how stupid you think he was you can't summarize his life into a momementary mistake. Common Sense is relative, and you clearly do not understand the mindset of a child and how its different from an adult who common sense can reasonably apply to.
Children do to horrible mistakes all the time and this incident is no different. And your just digging yourself into a deeper hole trying to defend that statement.
