Seriously though, it wont hit 18mil, legs are not there in japan and are decreasing with ORAS coming out. Every million mile stone hit is an accomplishment at this point. It hit 13mil and will probably get close to about 14mil by end of this year. After that i dunno. 15mil is a hugeMaybe. Hope it gets to it though^

I doubt it^ If that were to happen shipments wouldneed to be about 3.5mil this year with a 1.5mil the next (2015). These legs are good though. But wih ORAS out and possibly XY2/Z that will cut it from even becoming 16mil :0

Based on those sales trends I think nintendo needs to back off yearly releases a bit.....
The need another mega franchises on handhelds to sell them, but that will be very difficult with smartphones around these days. They should really be bringing over some of the japanese games like yokai watch.

Very likely, specially because VGChartz doesn´t have digital sales number. Check this out:

The game actually sold more than 3 million copies,  around 500k probably were digital sales. And that without Europe.

There are many Nintendo games highly undertracked due to this, like Mario Tennis, RE:Revelations, both sold more than 01 million copies but in VGChartz they stay at 700k. RE:Revelations in particular sold a lot of digital copies with Capcom promotions through the year

While it seems like a steady decline, DS was rife with piracy, so I'd say it's more of a sharp decline :^)

Unless it passes Pokemon Black & White (which experienced a decline from Gen 4), sales have declined.

Unless it passes Pokemon Black & White (which experienced a decline from Gen 4), sales have declined.

You make it seem so much worse than it is. You thought it was going to majorly decline... but it hasnt. Its holding 13mil+ on a 46mil user base vs 15.5mil (black/white) on a 155mil+ userbase.

It held on very well. Lets not scream decline just because lifetime will be under previous installment by under 10%. 

Pokemon XY is #1 and will remain #1 for this generation of PS4/X1/WiiU/Vita/3DS in terms of exclusive sales or even on any console.

Seems as though you forget how well the franchise does. Lol at making it seem like its a big deal pointing out a tiny drop especially considering the installbase^

First you say that there's no decline and now you're saying that it's insignificant.

About the best selling exclusives, to be fair, the 3DS has nowhere near the amount of games that the PS4 and X1 have.
