Weak 3DS boost shows the hardware has reached its maturity, we've had every big franchise under the sun now and things are going downwards. At this point Nintendo be looking at a phone-DS hybrid for their next handheld system?

Obviously?...teigaga face the truth!As for 3ds face the truth again!Japan's recession affects console sales!ps4 hasn't a decent future if 3ds doesn't get a big boost even if the pokemon games are remakes...!

PS4 2nd highest in Japan, yet the sales are so wretched. Should be pretty good for New years at least. Also good thing they tracked those 11 PSP units, no idea what we would do without knowing that.

Well, Nintendo stated that the 3DS is in different levels of maturity in each region. They know the 3DS is likely at its peak in Japan (a constant level but still.) Its why they put the N3DS out so soon.

The other markets still have room for a bit of growth though.

Different reasons for each. 3DS doesn't get boost because the fans of monster hunter pokemon, yokai watch and whatever else is coming out for it already have one. Its selling poorly but its sales are stagnant, that points to thier market already being saturated, it happens to all systems when they pass their prime.

If PS4 has a had baseline above 10k for the last few weeks, a significant rise over what it was selling before it will undoubtably jump even higher next year where february/march see over a dozen high profile releases and bigger games to follow sometime after. Key word being ''Decent''. Essentially i don't think we'll see it drop below 10k again once feb hits and it can achieve a 20k baseline.

The XBO.... I don't even... That's really bad.

3DS HW was less than I expected, but atleast Pokemanz did great. The PS4 is holding decently after the release of Cod and should get a nice sized boost after GTAV and the DQH bundle releases.

WTH Japan!!? 83k 3DS with Pokemon + Pokemon Bundle +Holiday+ New3DS? I'm starting to worry about the impact of smart phone on gaming devices in Japan!

I wouldn't have been disturb by Vita HW if it wasn't holliday because the Value Packs that will be released tomorrow with a big title and some other games.

I don't get it. Why would a Pokemon fan buy a 3ds now and not last year or at any other point since X/Y launched? Plus, 3ds has sold so much already that it's sales are mostly gonna be people buying a second 3ds/new3ds.

I mean, that would make sense to me.
