so Watch Dog Wii U < PS360 versions. How about AC III and ACIV Wii U are they even at par with PS360 versions?
and wanted to know other multi-plat games like Need for Speed which i believe is better than PS360 version?

and what multi-plat games can you recommend for Wii U?

If you had the misfortune of playing that awful, awful Ninja Gaiden III on the PS360, then I heartily suggest you pick up a copy of the Wii U exclusive Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. It fixes a shit ton that was wrong with the pS360 versions and brings back the super popular combat system from Ninja Gaiden II.

Its a good hack-n-slash game.

I think Watch Dogs on Wii U is fine, granted its not the best version but at least I can experience it without having to shell out £350 for a different console to play it on. This way I get to play a "good enough" version of Watch Dogs and the best exclusives in the business.

I feel as if though some people in this thread are being too quick to point the finger here at Ubisoft for this mishap.

Granted, I wouldn't know the amount of improvements that went on for 6 months compared to the older builds but what I do know is that devs are far from lazy ...

I don't think we can lay all of the blame on the hardware here. Sure, slowdown during scenes with tons of AI/animations/physics is at least partly due to the lower clocked CPU, but it also slows down during scenes were bugger all is happening, which is just shitty coding.

Heck, Assassin's Creed 3 on Wii U performs better with way more NPCs in play, and that was a launch title.

Also, if it fully utilized the hardware we'd see memory related improvements, like the higher resolution textures in Need for Speed Most Wanted U.

The definitive version continues my niggas. Have that seat.

(get it?)

It's not always about clock speeds ... There are TONS of aspects to consider such as memory subsystem, SIMD widths, memory models, instruction throughput capabilities and other things as well.

Ubisoft definitely could've done a better job of profiling the cutscenes.

As for AC3, it's not always about having higher NPC counts either.

Textures depend on more than just memory capacity too. It's no use adding in higher resolution textures when you don't have enough texture units or memory bandwidth to sustain it.

Ubi probably just took the X360 code base, pulled it through some Wii U compiler, activated VSYNC, spend the rest of 6 months "polishing" 3 effects and textures by one guy and and called it a day. Absolutely 0 effort has been done to optimize for Wii U. Can't blame them with the stance they took of bringing it late and such, but just have the decency to just kill it.

The Wii U playing almost any x360 game with the same code bases and minor tweaks was supposed to be a blessing but has reared it's ugly head with devs calling that "good enough" and putting no effort in the further optimizing of the games.

I agree about the cutscenes, but it's not just those; when he's sneaking out of the stadium it can't even hit 30fps in bland rooms devoid of effects and with a mere handful of characters. That's clearly not the hardware's fault when we've seen it run much more demanding scenes more smoothly in other games.

And if Need for Speed Most Wanted U, a game that blows Watch Dogs Wii U out of the water graphically, (and is also an open world game you can move through at high speed) can spare the texture units and bandwidth for better-than-PS360 textures, I'm sure WD could as well had it recieved the same level of care.

Of course, Ubisoft knew the game would flop, so they had no incentive to really invest in getting the most out of the hardware.

On a side note. Did anyone ever complain about comparable low performance for GTA V on the PS3? Just wondering...

Ubisoft is clearly to blame. I don't understand how they couldn't. I don't hate them. It's just what happened. They are the publisher and they share culpability just like Sega and Gearbox with Aliens. There track record across all platforms isn't very good right now.

By all accounts, the game is playable as is. If the only complaints are not having better textures or higher FPS than PS3 I guess it's not THAT bad. I might grab it on sale some day if I don't already have a 360/ps4 version from a bargain bin somewhere.

Good question,  I do not like Gta style of game, but I am sure the comments from the owner of Ubisoft, as that the Nintendo like only the kiddy game, put a nail to the coffin and all the sales of WD went to Bayo
