Watch Dogs shifts almost no copies on its Wii U launch in UK

Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Watch Dogs shifts almost no copies on its Wii U launch in UK

We are at a fucked up point in the gaming community if we ask ourselves "What's wrong with the consumer base?" instead of "What was wrong with the companies sales approach?"

Wow, three posts in total and already more valuable contribution than some longtime users.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

A Biased Review Reloaded / Open Your Eyes / Switch Gamers Club

Good. Ubi soft deserves that.

Totally, this.

What ZT said, not Rol's snarky comment. :P

This game would've flopped even if it launched day and date with the other versions.

And VGC's Bayonetta 2 number is likely grossly overtracked, the NPD numbers we've been hearing put Bayo 2 at 70k for launch month and it didn't sell great in Japan either, so there's no way it's sitting at 340k right now.

Shocking news.

knew that 8 months or so ago :)

its funny that people always do the same mistakes. Its like they have a READ ONLY MEMORY as brain.

When the game still wasn't delayed.

No this was after.

I was one of those and this was back in July and early August when I didn't know it would release so late.. now I predict 100k at best. It's Ubisoft's fault for waiting so long.

It seems that Wii U only people are voting with their wallets...so are third parties towards the system.

Its odd since Ubisoft and a good number of 3rd parties, like Warner Bros, utilize the gamepad better then Nintendo, Maybe they feel its not their place to sell the system on its biggest selling feature?

Well according to most people their games arent even close to selling the console...

Yeah that's kind of the funny thing Wii U fans crap all over third parties, yet Zombi U, Batman, and Deux Ex probably use the controller better than any Nintendo game not called Nintendo Land, lol.

Third parties don't have time for systems that don't sell their software. It's not a Nintendo bias, third parties dumped the Vita just as quick too. This is a big business, not a charity.

Third parties are under no obligation to grovel at Nintendo's feet because they used to be hot sh*t in the console business 20 years ago. They want this type of third party support? Then go earn it. Market to that audience like Sony/MS do. Interface and work with third parties like Sony/MS do. Give them modern-ish hardware like Sony/MS do. Otherwise Nintendo really doesn't have room to complain.

Third parties will meet you half way, Nintendo is not willing to even go that far though, so third party attitude's towards them are predictable.

People should be happy Ubi Soft released this at all, they certainly didn't have to.

They do not care how good or bad it sells, even if it would sell good (i hope nobody in the world expected that!) they would not continue WiiU-Support besides some JustDance stuff.
It seems to me like 3rds expect Nintendo console owners only to have one console and so having to buy the WiiU version. Seems they can not imagine them to have another console...

From the people who are having WiiU only, the majority for sure does not care about WatchDogs. From the people who are having WiiU and PS4/XBone, the majority have bought it already for their other console. Who in the world should buy WatchDogs WiiU version?

I am very curious seeing real numbers ^^

3rds not dumped Vita, 3rds (except some japanese one3rds - and they are seeming to support Vita even better than 3DS!) dumped handhelds in general.

NO 3rd would EVER take NOT supporting an Playstation home console into account, even if it would sell really badly. They would do anything to increase the console sales.
