Forums - Politics Discussion - Ferguson officer Darren Wilson not indicted

There's no evidence to convict Wilson on the charges. Just like the Trayvon Martin case people get emotional and jump to conclusions. You want some real American judicial travesties see the OJ Simpson trial, Lizzie Borden trial, and George Stinney trial. The Stinney trial is one of the saddest things you will ever know, so click the link at your own risk.

George Stinney - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Stinney
Lizzie Borden - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lizzie_Borden
OJ Simpson - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_of_the_State_of_California_vs._Orenthal_James_Simpson

None of these cases will  make the issues that black community are expressing fake, false or okay.   The concerns they have are real, and deflecting doesn't solve anything.  Certain cases always make it to the media, but I have seen with my own eyes, an unarmed black man beaten in the street beyond unconsciousness by the police and none of your evidence will make what I saw okay.   The officer wasn't in danger or threatened.

All I gotta say to the people in or around Ferguson after the grand jury's decision is read... is hide yo kids, hide yo wife, and hide yo husband!

Let's hope it doesn't come down to that.

It will. People devolve into vicious animals when emotions run high.

Dude stop getting so emotional. No one is saying that police brutality doesn't happen, no one is saying that it's ok, what I'm saying personally is that cases like this do not help because they are creating a narrative that isn't there in THIS case. That hurts the overall discussion. If you can't see that then you have a problem.

I dunno who this guy is but there's a burning car on the street amongst the tear gas and protestors, etc

And of course they riot. Ruining the very communities they live in, yet still wonder why those areas are so crappy. Sadly, the fact is the people doing this don't give a shit about the case or the person who died or the cop's life who is now ruined without any real evidence of wrongdoing or real justice. They just want an excuse to riot and steal shit.

And part of the ferguson community start looting and rioting. Yeah, that is really gonna help with all this race relations shit storm.

As far as the decision, it is a bittersweet justice. Michael commited theft, resisted arrest, and died. If he knew he was innocent of anything, he would have just stayed put. He got caught and tried to bail out and paid with his life. There was no reason for him to die but his decisions led to his own death.

That's the irony, their actions are self-defeating and only perpetuate the problem.

What happened in this case?

The officer fought the guy and killed him or something like the Trayvon Martin case?

Never really payed attention to this and still dony really care too much now but I'm a bit curious to know what happened

Exactly. They are showing all of america, all of the world, why the cops in Ferguson profile blacks (granted, there are other races in the protests/riots and it's not every black person)

From what I have heard, the person who died, Michael Brown, had just robbed a store.  Other officers were answering the call for that theft, however, the officer who shot Brown, Darren Wilson, was not.  Wilson actually tried confronting Brown because him and his buddy were disrupting traffic. I'm guessing they were walking in the street.  Wilson approached them in his vehicle, but Brown slammed the door as he was trying to get out.  I'm going to make an educated guess that Brown thought Wilson was stopping him to talk about the robbery.  Wilson tried to get out, again, and that's when he was assaulted by Brown.  If I remember correctly, Brown actually broke some bone in Wilson's skull.  Wilson claims Brown was going for the gun and they struggled for it, and it went off.  This is when Brown ran away.  Wilson stepped out and told him to freeze.  Brown then turned around and charged at Wilson.  Wilson then fired a few shots into Brown's arm, but Brown apparently kept coming, so Wilson continued to fire at Brown, killing him.
