Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will Nintendo Allow Amiibos For Their More Violent IP?

I would buy the crap out of a Bayonetta amiibo ... but I guess Nintendo probably can't make it as it's an M-rated character in a toy line?

... or can they? Would they?

What if they added Solid Snake back into SSB via DLC later too ... does he get an amiibo? How about an amiibo for a Fatal Frame character?

Maybe they could set it up so that you can only get those amiibo maybe through Gamestop only and they aren't sold to kids perhaps? I'm pretty sure among the biggest amiibo buyers are teenagers/adults too.

No.

Probably not. They are geared towards kids first and foremost.

It would be cool, but I doubt it.

Well why not?

I mean kids can buy toys with guns and Ninjas etc so why not Amiibo? Its not like the Amiibo is M-rated.

I doubt this.

Highly doubt it

Violence has nothing to do with it. Plenty of Smash characters are violent. Samus exterminates entire species, murders armies of alien life forms, and then (just to be thorough) destroys the entire planet or space station on which she committed this act of genocide.

Also Pikmin is outrageously violent. Olimar literally throws semi-intelligent childlike creatures directly into the line of fire, often causing the deaths of dozens of them at a time. Almost always for relatively selfish reasons like self-preservation.

Then there's this

Yes and thats why her Amiibo is wrapped inside a metal armor suit...

I don't follow. You're referring to the suit she's wearing when all of this violence takes place. Would a Zero Suit Samus amiibo be more violent? Because that's almost certainly happening as well.
