  1. Did the 7th gen start off as bad as the 8th has been? I wanted to know if it's just bad because I don't know any better, or if it is just bad.
  2. I honestly and adamantly believe the Wii U could have been stealing the show this generation... if it released directly up against the PS4 and One... or maybe even this year.
  3. despite barely having anything that can't run on a One, 360, or PS3.
  4. Each and every title that was supposed to be the herald for the new gen has fallen flat on its face in some way shape or form. Rise, Watch Dogs, Destiny, and Assassin's Creed Unity were generally all agreed upon to be disappointing,

  1. Every gen of consoles starts off slowly. The rreal defining games for platforms usually start coming out in the second year of the consoles launch.
  2. The WiiU was released when it did cause no one were buying games for the wii anymore. The wii's auduience had moved on to smartphones and tablets. And this is what you (and apparently even nintendo) can't seem to realize. There really are hardcore, soft core and casual gamers. The first two are the ones that do most of the game buying and that play games that don't amount to nothing more than quick mini levels. Nintendo's share of that market stood at under 25M in the gamecube years and is dropping even now. The wii was pushed by casulas, they attempted to catch lighting in a bottle a second time by putting in the box what they felt was the primary thing stealing the audience. It failed. There are not and has never been 80-100M nintendo fans just itching to buy a nintendo platform in a very very very long time. But I will agree though, if the WiU was as powerful as the PS4/XB1 and had multiplats along with their games... tehy would be doing much better than they are now.Dunno about the controller though.
  3. It doesn't quite work that way and its a little ignorant saying stuff like this.  If devs srealy wanted to, even games made on the PS4 in 2019 can run on the PS3/360. What you need to ask though is how. Never again will we see a jump in tech and game design like we did from the SD to HD era of gaming. This is a simple fact people need to accept.
  4. Thats usually because those games were being developed on a moving target, were being developed on too many platforms or are simply very complicated. People seem to forget that when the jump was made from SD to HD, the SD consoles were petty much instantly abandoned. The SD consoles simply couldn't handle HD gaming and advanced pixel shaders that had become the cornerstone of game engine design. Back then, devs had much less work to do. Today, those dvs are basically designing in Full HD (PS4), HD (XB1) and sub HD (PS3/360) and UHD (PC). Thats 5 platforms. What do p[eople really expect.  This doesn't apply to all devs, but you will see all round better multiplats when devs become more focused.

As fo first party titles that aren't livig up to snuff, all I can say is not every dev is a great dev. KZ:SF and Infamous were for the most part completely bug free and are awesome games.
