Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rise of the Tomb Raider - timed exclusive actually a big deal.

How is that a win/win situation? Things wouldn't be any different for Xbox players if TR wasn't a timed exclusive; they'd get the game either way. This timed exclusive is dumb, because not all who owns a PS4 prefers Uncharted over TR.

And the PC master race will have no choice but to sit on the porch...at least they'll be too busy with Steam sales.

Microsoft is trying to have Rise of Tomb Raider go up against Uncharted 4 with this timed exclusive deal.

I previously had not played the new Tomb Raider game and felt that no Tomb Raider could ever compare to Uncharted. But fast forward this weekend where I played over 20hours and finished Tomb Raider Difinitive Edition. The game is freakin amazing. I hope that the money received from the timed exclusive really helps development of Rise of Tomb Raider and they improve an already great formula.

Rise of The Tomb Raider may not be as epic as Uncharted 4 but Crystal Dynamic does have a franchise that will at least rival Naughty dogs and especially for Xbox One owners they have a title thats comparable to Uncharted 4 next Holiday. Microsoft deal for a timed exclusive now peg PS4's Uncharted 4 vs Xbox One's Rise of the Tomb Raider during Holiday 2015. The deal might only be timed exclusive but as far as Holiday 2015 Rise of the Tomb Raider will be compared to Uncharted 4.

It's a win/win deal for both console owner.... PS4 get a great game after they finished playing Uncharted 4 and Xbox One owners get an improved version of Tomb Raider (extra $$$ for development) that can compare to the PS4's Uncharted during Holiday 2015.

TR is no Uncharted. If MS thinks the answer to Uncharted is a Tomb Raider game, they're delusional. They'd be better off focusing on what they do best which is FPS.

From the time it was announced at E3 to the time it finally released, the Tomb Raider reboot got some bad vibes from people calling it an Uncharted rip off. There were some similarities but really, it was a different beast. I actually preferred it to Uncharted and a lot of people that disliked it changed their minds when they got it for free.

Tomb Raider is awesome! Was my most anticipated game as soon as it was announced at E3 (along with Batman) and it deserves to be a big deal. I got it for 360, PS3, PS4, and I'm considering getting it for $20 on Xbox One! I love it.

Well now you should just finish the job. You played it on all of systems but Xbox Ones. My OCD would be acting up..

Actually got to finish this game up, Putting that on the list to get done tomorrow,

MS doesn't do the best....they buy the best. They didnt make Halo, they just bought it mid development and invested heavily in it ever since. The only thing that truly represents them is the same thing thats represented intrnally of extremely high quality for has lasted about twenty years now and thats similulators. MS is really good at that. I've been playing their simulators since the 90's. Very, very good.

No. Lara has no personality and her abilities are overexaggerated. Nathan Drake is a much more relatable, funny and flawed character with issues his own issues to deal with. Uncharted isn't rambo raider. Nathan is just trying to survive while finding treasure and escaping other gangs of explorers. Tomb Raider was purely a murder fest with a bad storyline. Not to say I didnt enjoy it quite a bit, but thats all it really was. The gameplay didnt match the story. She wasn't surviving.

So have ND write the story =P

LOL I'd rather just keep the distinction..one a mindless, murdering rich girl who is  dying of bloodloss, wraps it with a magical bandage and remembers tricks she was taught from mommy and daddy that randomly had amnesia and when she snaps out of it shes she-rambo. Of course during the multiple days she forgets she has a hole in her abdominals, which Joel from Last of Us similarly sustained and almost died from while time was of the essence. The other is a thief and historian with nothing to lose.

Am I the only one that played Uncharted 2!?  Flynn shot Nate in the stomach and he climbed a train and killed 100 bad guys!!

I did the same thing with Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Anniversary.  Just couldn't stop myself!  In my defense, I got it for "free" on PlayStation Plus.

It's a great deal, for Crystal Dynamics and SquEnix only. Someone else is paying the development of a game they were making anyway.

Hmm, pie.

That makes no sense, it's not like the game change from system to system.
