No, this is market leading, not dominance.

From http://www.thefreedictionary.com/dominate:

1. To control, govern, or rule by superior authority or power: Successful leaders dominate events rather than react to them.
2. To exert a supreme, guiding influence on or over: Ambition dominated their lives.
3. To enjoy a commanding, controlling position in: a drug company that dominates the tranquilizer market.
4. To overlook from a height: a view from the cliffside chalet that dominates the valley.
I don't see anything fitting for PS4. No controlling nor commanding position right now.

This is a literal way to see it but for analist dominance is a bit more light...

"Market dominance is a measure of the strength of a brand, product, service, or firm, relative to competitive offerings. There is often a geographic element to the competitive landscape. In defining market dominance, you must see to what extent a product, brand, or firm controls a product category in a given geographic area."

This fits the PS4 case in UK.

no it doesnt.

not even close.

Thinking about it, I doubt its even top 10 now... so it was a very bad (biased) example.

I don't know about you, but using Sony in an example does not seem biased to me at all. He specifically said "examples". He's just saying that having 43% of the sales on 5 platforms is domination to him.

and this is relevant to a 2 console market comparison how?

He counted 360, PS3 and PC.

Cause, that's the fucking point he was trying to make, right? His point was "look Sony is in the top 5 smartphone manufacturers", jesus christ, for a dude that loves to rub his intelligence and insight in everyones face you can turn incredibly thick when it comes to defending MS and downplaying Sony.

And you wonder why half of this site hates you.

Huh? It can't fit as there is no definition in there: " In defining market dominance, you must see to what extent a product, brand, or firm controls a product category in a given geographic area." And what do we see now? There is no "if your sales ratio is above x % higher than the other one, you dominate".

oh deary me... wow.

you seem to have gotten very excited in your response and made an error.  because that celarly wasnt  the point he was making and actually wasnt the main part of my response....  so your post is somewhat ironic.

Man oh man.. not sure what's going on here..
This chart does not say anything about ps4 dominating. both x1 and ps4 doing well. not sure why so many people are out in full forced screaming domination. Ps4 install base is bigger in the uk, so go figures lol.obviously software will favor ps4 almost everytime.

Let's wait for some sale numbers this week in the uk guys. x1 outsold ps4 3 weeks in a row..its really doubtful ps4 is "dominating" this week.. really doubtful.

Praise the One.
