Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Why Is Microsoft Panicking?

It look like Sunset Overdrive digital price dropped $15.00 on Live. This game just came out two weeks ago. Everytime I get online, it seems like Microsoft is having a sale on brand new content.  Unity on Xbox one dropped $10.00 the day after release. I couldn't believe it. I appreciate the deals but at the same time I'm skeptical of buying anything at release from Microsoft. Are they trying to gain sales for holiday or is there something else at play?

They're going bankrupt! Also because X1 just sold 1 million in the UK and are less than a mil behind PS4 in the US.

If Microsoft can afford it who will it really hurt? It doesn't hurt the consumer. I mean, if there is something we don't know about Sunset Overdrives sales then they might really need to have this sales. They've already lost two exclusives because of sales.

So you're against discounts and sales? Makes sense. Carry on PlayStation prophet.

Because of PS4's early lead. Happened with PS2. When PS4 have bigger install base it will be difficult to get third party exclusives, timed exclusives or exclusive content.

Perhaps its time that Microsoft stops depending so much on third party. Sony learned their lesson about doing that last gen and ended up having the most new IP's.

MS need some good PR during those holidays cause they have been saying holidays matters the most. So if holidays ends and they can't give any good PR that will look really poorly on them.

After the free trial for gold member, u have to give them a good price.
If some1 did not bought the game for full price at launch, they would probably not 3 weeks later for the same.

But now u get the trial and a discount on top. The game is already on ur hdd. U keep all the progress.
This is clearly panicking. Just like Sonys Driceclub discount even before launch...

Nobody but themselves. Why discount your biggest holiday exclusive two weeks after release? It seems like they picked up some sales after price-cut. Sunset Overdrive didn't do too bad in sales.

I saw an add for the Xbox One Unity bundle for $329.99 and a $50.00 gift card, lol.

It's Microsoft and they can afford it. I guess I go with that for now.
