Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Eurogamer assess how Xbox One is selling in China

A console not launched in the country more popular than one launched? Domination.

pull up your pants, it has even launched yet. It's funny how bad you want to trash Xbox, it's non-stop. I'm convinced you have more fun trashing xbox then playing your games.

It must be rules set by the Chinese government. Maybe they don't want X1 to sell for a low price. If the grey market price is cheaper than the actual price then that's really bad cause usually things sold on the black market imported from another country are sold at a much higher price then what they actually cost in the first place.

It is so backwards its does seem like a setup... Think about it this way:

The legit Xbox One doesn't even play Halo and its more expensive.

Yeah, I'm surprised it was even able to sell 100k consoles there when it launched.

I think it was pretty much confirmed from sources within China that that was just the initial shipment.

It was actually 100k shipped.  At least according to Xbox China.

Ohh right. I'd think that there are probably many unsold units then.

The people who've actually been to China "physically" predicted this would happen. It is what it is but I still hope the console market grows in China because more money for the devs means more games and localizations.

Anyone else think that "Most Chinese consumers" says absolutely nothing? Because even if 99.9% of consumers won't afford a console the absolute sales will still be bigger than most countries.

Hmm last time I checked a console sold on the white market or grey market heck even on the black market (if not stolen straight from the manufacturing plant) is a sold console for MS no matter what...or for PS4 even if it hasn't launched there yet....

And not rich enough??? Come on even if only 1% could afford it, it'd be more people than in many countries in the world... Talking about majority in a billion+ inhabitant country is ridiculous... You can live decently with a minority over there...

Looks like the PS4 is going to dominate in China since they will have more games to play in comparison to the XB1

ps4 isn't even released and it's much more popular. holy crap. PS+ could really help the chinese market if Sony plays their cards right.
